I can run a 400FSB with this bios, and I choked after 380 before. Also, I can use the XMP profile, where it hasn't worked in the past.

I wouldn't worry about 55 at full load. And Low to mid 40's for an average cooler on the OC you have is probably about right.

it may have been the 8.7's then, give them a try. I know I had the same issue, and reverting to the prior drivers helped.

I totally agree with your statement on this board and 4870's....

90 to 100C is not unusual for these cards. I doubt they automatically go to 100% fan speed @ 100C. I had mine @ 50% and they were way to loud. I would try bumping the CPU voltage in tiny increments...

Also noticed that after coming out of sleep mode:

CPU temp reads -1C
Mboard Temp 255C
No system fan RPMS.

All this from Everest.

I was going to try dropping mine a bit as well (no major OC to begin with) to get rid of the issues I had with 1814, but I thought since everything ran so well with the prior bios, I would just try...

Back to 1554 bios for me. 1814 started all types of random reboots and USB issues.

I ran into the same problem with Patriot 1333 when adding 2 additional 1GB sticks. Ended up going with Mushkin 2 X 2GB kit to keep my timings low and run 1T.

A 280GTX also takes out 2 ports. I have a pair of 4870's as well and the ports are all open.

Running the the Beta's and I am very pleased with the performance now over the 280GTX. I had to wait like a vulture on Newegg to get these, but of course, they are now readily available:)

Just a quick note here for people with S3 issues running Vista. S3 only works for me if the plan I choose is default. If I modify that plan - say to change standby from 1 hour to two, it won't work....
