Hi all.
The last work units from me for quite a while are just finishing up.
I'm going away on a long trip and I have had far too many failures recently (mostly fans seizing up) to leave the...
Yup confirmed with a DMM on all 5 with F5b bios...(have not tried other bios versions at all).
I also played around with the PWM frequency a bit but still could not get Vcore as low as my R3E for...
That's interesting.... all of the five I tested overvolted Vdimm slightly...
Well this thread is simply on fire LOL :D
Anyway, just completed and sent off my fifth build with this board so a few observations...
All builds have been air / water and not for extreme...
Yup Vdimm is not exactly spot on.
My board is overvolting .03v with F5b so 1.5v bios = 1.53v DMM...
Well at 1.5v anyway :D
F5b bios notes:
Load Line Calibration level 1 gives significant Vdroop at 100% load. 1.265v down to 1.248v (DMM).
Load Line Calibration level 2 overvolts just as much at 100% load. 1.275v up tp...
Should get mine in tomorrow too :)
Edit: make that today :) :) :)
Testing F5B bios now.....
Yup mid to high sixties is what I would expect from a 9550 crunching at those clocks and vcore.
I have a QX9650 going at almost the same clocks vcore and temps too...
Not much for me although I do like the colour scheme :D
I am not getting one for myself but I *do* happen to need 5 of them quite urgently to finish off customer builds ;)
The colours are all customisable you know ;)

To be fair the 212 is a pretty terrible cooler so if the 9550 needs more vcore there is your problem.
Try and change the orientation 90 degrees just to check but I suspect it is the cooler.
DAY FIVE RESULTS:

Not good at all.... hope your luck improves in the coming weeks / months... :yepp:
AT LASSSSSSSST!!!
Well he certainly touched my bank account
Seriously though Dave stick with us a while longer...this mortal coil is not done with you yet
The Necrothreadmeister™ strikes again :D
You just reminded me Comp... Jmicron onboard was also very often a no go to recognise a raid if the drives were not in the correct order...
Thankfully almost all recent Intel chipsets and all...
Nice to see all this super expensive top end hardware playing nice, isn't it?
Sheesh :shakes:
Post #1 updated, thanks to all for info :)
That is about as good as I have dammit!
I have a *lot* of hardware going mouldy here waiting for these boards to complete builds :yepp:
As stated above if the raid chip is the same family there is a very good chance the 780 board will recognise the raid on raid bios boot up otherwise you would need to enter the *exact* original...
Care to define how much longer not to much longer is? :)

:)
This cooler runs best with 2 x 2000 rpm fans in push pull config.
Either run the system naked for best cooling or configure the fans as exhaust so you do not dump all the CPU heat into the case......
Is the board X58-UD3 or X58A-UD3 rev 1 or 2?
What rev is the board?
Once you know that grab and flash the latest bios from here...
This will wipe your settings and saved settings so make...
Yep I was going to suggest the new Xeon dual core if speed was king over multithreaded but there is no word yet on pricing or availability so getting one is going to be ... tricky.
