Nice build.
Where did you find the liquid-filled pressure gauge?
Only seen dry ones that range from 0-1bar for reasonable prices.
And which thread size does it use?

Thanks, I'm also glad it has come out fine. Planned this for quite a while but was too lazy to execute it till today. :)
Block cover plates have been polished and nickel plated again, just to fit...
These 12xxML mips blocks were never intended to be used on 1880 cards. So as mentioned you'll have to start your dremel to get the job done.
Anyway it was fun to do and I guess that's what counts,...
Or mail Michael from Mips directly:

Ok, just had a detailed look and took some photos:
It needs about 0.5-1mm at two or one (thermal pad solution) place(s).
I forgot there's another clearance issue at the chip area too. But it's...
Guess it's up to your needs. Alarm sound or not, that's the question. :)
If yes to alarm sound you'll just need to sand/dremel away about 1mm (still enough material there after) at the position...
The Mips 12xx ML block will work on the 1880 as Areca still uses same spacing.
Altough you'll have to do some minor modification on back of the block on the left from your photo.
Without, the...
Wow, that's really early if we can call it like that after those years of tireless hope.
So, come get some.
edit: Just noticed how ridiculous the delay for the non-US public is.
After going through this thread (ok at least checked every photo ;) ) guess I know what a project is like.
So many great ideas and skills in here.
Especially like your...
Some great testing there, thanks for sharing.
Good look without heatshrink and as long as its hold tight there it's fine.
Some heatshrinks I had were looking more like gray color than black and left an odd look with a dead-black sleeve.
Will...
Love the worklog title and build.
Unluckely the title reminds me also of my neverending oc fail journey with some kind of hardware... :)
Great looking color combo!
Temps would be of much interest, wondering how they look like in comparison to the 480 ones.
btw: Nice vid, gloves FTW. :)
nice hardware and build, keep us updated when AC gpu blocks are installed.
Nice... 99.9999999% = OCC9N!
Please let me know your source immediately and I'll upgrade all my audio cables.
OCC5N is best you can get for a 'decent' quote in small lots but for sure...
According 4gb ram modules:
Tekram gets the wanted Unigen goodies, fresh delivery from Areca Taiwan per week @$230. Ordered. :D
So which (US) distributor to get the Unigen from?
+1 for an acetal version as for the mentioned reasons.
Acrylic blocks are definitely a major no-go for many enthusiasts.
For me there's also no need for a bling illumination, just need a block...

Have a Mips singleslot for 12xx series but I guess nobody has tried one of those on new 1880 series.
The heatsink shot above is from 12xx series. From photos it looks like even the singleslot...
Wonder if Areca still uses old heatsink dimensions on 1880ix series.
12xx heatsink:

Anyone?
Just let me say everything can be cooled a...
Any more optimistic eta than 31th December on the 1880ix?
Myself I'm hoping for an oldschool 25mm spacing madness. :D
But to be honest I doubt this might happen.
Not much information there:

Any ideas what TC is planning? Some shops claim eta for end of August.
Anyway looking forward to.
