Wow very nice numbers! I added my Q9550 again now that my main computer is operational :D a little more than 1/2 year downtime...
Why not use black tubing?
I recommend the ATCS 840 from CoolerMaster. I have done zero modifications and can fit without problems a 360 and a 240 radiator internally.
I even used the default 240mm fans at the top, and made...
Good input, I've never thought about this, and I use 1/2:3/4 myself.
Seeing that I want to go 5850's when they drop somewhat in price, fullcover seems the way to go then.
Beautiful block! Nice touch to support large compression as well! I like my compressions biig ;)
+1 for that for those who us who are still satisfied with ze old s775 performance.
What you are basically trying to do is what Martinm210 described as a way to measure heat dump in a loop.

You need radiators.
Processors will automatically shut down if beyond a certain temperature. Always. That is the primary function of the temperature sensor.
You will need a radiator. It doesn't matter if you have...
Why can't you use your existing ATCS and put a 360 at the double fan position at the HDD bay? I have a double there. Using the stacked variant of the MCR allows you to have one port directed at the...
I went through the gallery page by page and copied the link to the individual posts, such as yours above:

Sweet.
But for a 5850 I might be buying a heatkiller block instead. I really hate the groove of the swiftech products.
What they have actually hard mounted the core heatsink to the other one?
Bring on the Unisinks!
You know, that is not a bad idea at all! I didn't think of it. Yeah, that definitely is the way to do it!
I'm thinking of editing the first post and do it all over. But this time I'll not spend hours going through the gallery, but rather rely 100% on thread submissions.
The major risk is, what is it...
You are correct, the difference between PCIe 2.0 8x and 16x is negligible:

I spent almost two hours bleeding/filling before I gave up and inserted the res "the proper way". Not recommended.
The main reason why water cooling is better is because the increased surface area of which the heat can be exchanged. And it's very easy to increase the heat exchange area for WC compared to AC.

I've made a sketch how I want to plumb in my new and shiny ATCS 840:

The reason why I want to do this is because I feel it would be better...
No clamp on barb -> leak over motherboard. It was mounted horisontally and happened while I was at work. My motherboard fried but all the rest did survive.
Shipping is nomally not much. When I bought a complete pump, res, rad tubing and whatnot from pts the shipping was at 50-ish USD.
XSPC has solid products.

Ahhh maaan what a bummer.
Something has happened the way the posts are numbered.

Yepp, listen to faster. Wait for at least one day (24h). Then use a hair dryer to take out the final moisture that can be stuck under the pci slots, ram slots etc.
I do it. But mostly because it gets really cold in my apartment during winter, because the wall facing outwards is almost only glass. I can notice the additional ~300W of heat added to the other...
it's not MCR's, but the idea is the same:
