There's now 4.2. I also updated to the latest Intel Management Engine driver thing. However in the shiny new BIOS I am unable to change voltages for some reason. It's not behaving like the old at...
Under load? Sounds fine!
Looks like this board has been moved to MSI's archives now!
Anyway, the latest BIOS is:
1.I
- Update CPU Micro Code for Sandy Bridge C2 CPU.
- Update RAID option ROM.
- Improved memory...
New BIOS out:
1.15
- Update CPU Micro Code.
- Update memory module.
- Update RAID ROM version.
- Improved gaming mouse compatibility.

I wonder when this board is going to get the nice new BIOS layout like the X79 has? The current one is not that intuitive!
What's the latest MSI Control Center available? I have 2.1.008...
Just got my B3 board installed. Now just have to arrange for the B2 to be collected. Will bench sometime soon to see if I can...
My CPU wasn't actually stable at 4.6Ghz with the settings in the OP. It would pass Linx and Prime95 for hours, no problem, but crash when playing a movie! Will report back when I am stable at...
Will flash to this methinks.
Having odd issue at the moment. 4.6Ghz stable with Prime95 and Linx, but bluescreens when playing a 720p rip through WMP. Think voltages need bumping a little.
Will do. I have a multimeter so will get round to doing it shortly.
Personally it will be 1.3V or over 65 degrees Linx/Prime95 load, which ever comes first.
Over 2 hours Prime 95 stable at 4.6Ghz. 1.255V set in BIOS. The voltage issue above still in effect.

Quick question. How long does it take for your boards to make the boot screen (MSI logo thing) visible when cold booting whilst overclocked? Takes longer than I expect.
Thanks for making this mate. Extremely useful utility.
I'm struggling with voltage control on 1.8b7. 45x100 set in BIOS at 1.25V. CPU-Z shows 1.225V idle and 1.264V under Prime95 load. MSI Control Center has 1.2150V displayed. All other voltages on...
I based my purchased of cheap 1600Mhz CAS9 RAM for my SB build based on this article.
Do you mean IME (Intel Management Engine)? If so, you can get it here.
Managed to get everything set up last night. Flashed to 1.8b7 before installing the OS and don't seem to have encountered any BIOS bugs. Haven't overclocked yet, but did press the OC Genie button...
Nice one. Just hope some more official BOIS releases are let out into wild soon that incorporate all the fixes in the betas.
Got my CPU and RAM today, so I'll be able to build up my GD65 based build. Have grabbed the 1.8b7 BIOS from the HWBOT thread. Is this definitely the latest? What tool is everyone using to upgrade...
I just took delivery of my CPU, which may be the newest in this thread. To be built with a GD65 and 4Gb XMS3 when I get home from work:
i5 -2500K

Anyone know what the significance of...
I actually have a multimeter. Will be good to be able to put it to use with this board!
I have a GD65 at home waiting for a 2500K to arrive along with some Corsair XMS3. In the UK, MSI are offering a 20% rebate on the cost of the board, which makes it great value for money. Looking...
I had an E4500 on the same board I currently have. It only did 3200Mhz or so. Wasn't a great CPU, but then my board isn't a great board!
Ah, that makes sense! Thanks.
Do you know if 4&8Gb F3-12800CL9D-XGBXL kits will do a command rate of 1T at 1.5V? I know official specs indicate otherwise, but was wondering if there was any...
