Finally got a video up on Vimeo.

The colors are off a little and we couldn't get the 12' tree with 3,600 lights on it over to the right, but it's a decent video.

Yeah, we are still chugging away with our Opteron 165/170 computers here. Basically after DDR2s debut, I decided I didn't need to be on the cutting edge anymore. Only thing we've upgraded has been...
Reviving a year-old-thread. ;) No video yet, but here are some pictures of this year's display.

Actually, what I'm shooting for next year is a little more like this...

Richard Holdman has an abundance of talent imho. :toast:
Added a couple still shots and another video with a little better audio...
http://www.adventurevision.com/smilies/santa.gifMerry Christmas to All!!!:toast:...
For all the complaints about the analog network, it's service range can't be beat imho. I still have places around my house that digital stops working but analog is fine.
The controller this year is just a hokey 6-channel "GE/Mr. Christmas Sounds and Lights of Christmas". I already placed my order for a much better 16-channel controller kit. It is computer...
It gets better, I'm 37 and honestly, I love giving gifts to everyone. It makes them happy, and for the most part, I get a whole-hearted "Thank You!" from everyone. And a "special" thank you from...
Almost as much as the neighbors I'll bet... :yepp:
After we put the lights up this year I ended up buying one of those GE/Mr. Christmas Sounds and Lights of Christmas units. There really is no rhyme or reason for the arrangements of the lights......
Just another "Thank you"... make sure to keep us posted. :toast:
Awesome results, thanks for sharing! :toast:
I'm going to be buying 3 to 4 of these setups to replace the existing Opteron mini-farm and I was worried. Not really worried too much anymore...

I hope some of you realize how huge the undertaking is by any company to rollout any service on a grand scale. I work for a Telco and back when deregulation hit my job was to make room on our poles...
Not really related, but interesting none-the-less...

No offense, but you have barley 2 million people in your whole country...

That s smaller than some of our cities. People forget how big the US...
Rechargeable batteries have done this for decades. I remember my first set of Everyready rechargeables came with an "adapter" that you just slid the AA in to make it a D. They were a bit longer...
Looks like I may finally upgrade from socket 939. ;)
Yes, we are. +1 for their English being horrible.
And only 5mb/386kb here. :(
(I like the 5mb, but hate the 386kb... wish it was at least 768kb or 1mb though)
Also, 33.6k and 56k are very valid limits... each traditional phone line is just a 64k channel as far as the Bell System is concerned.
Maybe, but the 200x faster claim is ridiculous. The link I posted to has basically the same specs as this person's "discovery". And AT&T is already using VDSL2 and in fact, they talk about bonding...
Sounds a bit like VDSL2...
