You can generally live with 333 max FSB, even if it is limited to 333 MHz, if you have one of
    - X CPU with unlocked multiplier
    - 800 MHz FSB CPU
    - x10 or higher multiplier 1067 MHz CPU
    -...

sesdave, please tell me you are joking that they soldered the BIOS chip onto the board so that a bad flash bricks it

Still not happy here. So I flashed back to 1707 to support a CPU that of course I don't own, but anyway, that works and my Celeron also still works. So far so good.

However, on the 1707 BIOS I get...

I am comparing with my BadAxe1 with the 4 major memory timings being the same. It's very clear that Asus' labels are not what you get. I'll post some numbers Monday.

I don't understand why I get more memory dividers when I up the FSB from 200 to 300, while still using a 800 MHz FSB CPU. My understanding is that you don't get memory dividers lower than 1:1 if you...

What's the deal with the memory dividers on this board?

    I should have 1:1, 3:4, 3:5 and 1:2.

When selecting 200 MHz FSB with a 800 MHz FSB CPU:
    - 400 1:1
    - 533 3:4
    - 600 WTH?
    - 667...

Ok, I don't want to go on your nerves, but before I go my one-way flash:

I need 410 FSB (x9) for that build, otherwise the whole thing is useless to me. Is that realistic to get out of a random...

I'll give it a shot, but I am 99% sure I already used 2.11 in my failed attempt.

Somehow I feel like a lab rat being trained by Asus.

What do you guys think, will 1707 most likely work? We have...

So what is the decisive thing here that makes you able to go backwards? That you rename the file? Or that you use AFUDOS 2.11?

So I tried flashing this thing back to 0701 and 1707 to support my Conroe.

No go. Assus' flash utility refuses to go back claiming the BIOS is too old and I should "download the newest BIOS".

Does anybody know whether BIOS 1701 will support a Celeron 440?

I need to flash bashwards to maybe support my Conroe, but if the Celeron 440 won't work afterwards I'm left without anything to...

Will that then work with a Celeron 440? Because if not then I don't have a CPU left to re-flash.

    I shouldn't have trusted Asus :(

My board doesn't seem to post with a B1 Conroe, although it works fine with a different CPU.

Is that a known problem and/or is it fixable? Getting really frustrated with this board :(
