So what is the decisive thing here that makes you able to go backwards? That you rename the file? Or that you use AFUDOS 2.11?

So I tried flashing this thing back to 0701 and 1707 to support my Conroe.

No go. Assus' flash utility refuses to go back claiming the BIOS is too old and I should "download the newest BIOS".

Does anybody know whether BIOS 1701 will support a Celeron 440?

I need to flash bashwards to maybe support my Conroe, but if the Celeron 440 won't work afterwards I'm left without anything to...

My board doesn't seem to post with a B1 Conroe, although it works fine with a different CPU.

Is that a known problem and/or is it fixable? Getting really frustrated with this board :(
