If you are referring to me I am really not saying that its an uter failure. But if anything this card is late. It is very late. Would have been an awesome 2016 product - faster than GTX 1080. But...
I get the feeling many people really want to believe that this is not a gaming card and that drivers are bad and that something is hidden that will make this beat the 1080Ti at gaming soon.
But...
17k is the total score while I posted a picture of the GPU scores.
More runs on Firestrike below:

They've done several runs on it and it seems to hover around 17k even with proper 1600mhz full run.

Someone is reviewing it already. Follow it here:

If the RX Vega is between 1080 and 1080ti then it will either have to be at least $100 cheaper than the Ti or it will be a silent berth of a card since knowing it will underperform on the high end...
No hard launch date
No proper performance figures
No admitting supply problems with HBM2
They should call this the Radeon VAGUE.
What a beast... But I think its a pipe dream to expect this will sell for $699 without any competition from AMD. So I will wait for Vega and hope that it does something enough to make prices cheaper.
You are a fast trigger. Was just going to post that!
Looks like a sexy board. Look forward to seeing prices and availability.
I find the lower gaming performance weird compared to the rest of the tests. But in essence I see two problems: bad overclocking and too low clocks to compete in gaming. Both of these can be ironed...
Rebadging, seriously? What happened to Vega all accross the segments?
This is bad news if true.
Thanks! I imagine the 1600X will be the sweetspot for gaming price/perf wise.
I dunno.. with companies like google putting big money into Quantum A.I. one can expect a lot to happen.
We are quickly heading for the inevitable self aware AI system movies so greatly predicted. Tell me why the gargantual investment in this segment without any regulation again?
I'm mostly hoping for a very overclockable 1600X and since the rumour is that it will have 4.0Ghz boost clock, I am hopeful. If the thing can reach at least 4.3-4.4 Ghz on air it will sell like hot...
Isn't NDA supposed to be lifted today?? Want reviews already!!
On the other hand we got massive price cuts from Intel incoming. I had forgotten how good competition was......

Right before GTX 1080ti launches we see a benchmark of Vega 580 with an underwhelming GTX 1070 performance. I think two things:
-this is the mainstream product and the Vega 590 is the high tier. ...
Assuming the 1700X is slightly less capable (~10%) in gaming than an i7 7700k, I would still take it for the multi-threaded performance boost.
Let's wait and see but the way I see it is you get more performance for your money which you can use for investing on that video card. I doubt Ryzen will be positioned only for the budget oriented.
You are completely right, they don't want to steal AMD's spotlight but rather free ride on the sales boosts that Ryzen will provide. Pairing Ryzen with 1080Ti will be an attractive system for many.
A bit late since Gigabyte has been selling a compact GTX 1070 for many months already...
Now waiting for Vega mini ITX...
Can't wait to see what mini ITX boards will come out for AM4. Looking to upgrade to a tiny PC that packs a punch and will be interested in what AMD has to offer vs. Intel.
