i have replaced the old fans from external radiator with some better ones now and added another a 280 rad internally. reseated cpu waterblock and used arcitc mx-4 thermal paste, tightened the screws...
Im sure you got that in reverse. What temps are you getting prime test stable?
Thanks. Radiator is a TFC 420 Monsta 105mm thick. It was a limited edition and has stopped production a long time...
i think i saw your youtube benchmark for this run! :) awesome CB score flanker, it's certainly unreachable for a lot of people. Cinbench is your specialty anyways
some updates on my rig,...
so i ran prime again to test the cooling capacity but this time i set the clocks to 3.9ghz 1.3v (previously 4.0ghz 1.4v)
first ten minutes, ambient is 29c (but i think it was around 26-27c)

i'm still using old yateloon fans, they seem to be fine but perhaps its time to get some new high static pwm fans (Corsair ML140, Phanteks F140MP). though i have already ordered some cheap arctic pwm...
temps are still high despite the big rad. i don't think anything can cool this down at full stresst test and still keep it at 68c
ambient temps at 29c, short test only

so i raised vcore to 1.4v and was able to run CB at 4.1ghz :)

nice rig charged and nice CB score. i tried 4.1ghz but it just crashes and couldn't finish CB.
what vcore do you get during your cinebench run? it looks like 1.46v + LLC should be around +1.5v
Totally different! it's so freaking  awesome haha h
honestly i don't know what to do with all these cores but it sure feels good to have so many of them :D
Highest I can go so far is...
Finally upgraded from a 1055T Thuban to a 1950x! Found a used mobo + cpu combo for a pretty good price couldn't resist it. I want to join the fun :)
Cinebench at 4ghz. Memory are stock XMP profile...

thanks for the input guys, that's a lot of information to go through. I understand that class ab amps are better than class d but how much better is the question? would it be a noticeable difference...
i guess i was not pretty clear above, about a month ago i bought a marantz nr1402 av receiver together with a B&W 684 floorstanding speaker for my HTPC which i use for movies, music and games. I have...
i bought a power amp for my new 3-way speaker in a 2 channel stereo configuration and now i find it a little bit lacking on the low end bass. its pretty weak with low volumes and okay when loud, not...
i did just that but still doesn't work. i think it's an onboard audio driver for the mobo (msi 890GXM-G65). funny thing is that after installing those realtek audio drivers, i lost the option to...
dasa, yes i had set it to 'amd dp audio output'. Maybe an active displayport to hdmi would do the trick if one exists.
okay, finally i got a hold of a powercolor active displayport to single-link dvi-d and now i can get the video to my tv, however another problem came up - i don't have sound pass through hdmi. i'm...
thanks for all the responses guys, you've been a great help. just one last thing though, i am having trouble connecting this card to my hdtv, i just can't seem to get a video signal from it no matter...
anyone knows how to undervolt this gpu without flashing? i have tried msi afterburner but it doesn't unlock the voltage even when set in the settings. i have enabled gpu overdrive though if that even...
just received the 6850 today and my first impression of it is that it's a nice build, feels like a premium hardware and the heatsink is thick which i hope would be able to cool down the gpu in such a...
So my power meter just arrived today and now i finally have an idea of how much power my system is consuming, i think it is safe to say that my psu would be sufficiently enough for a 6850 as long as...
thanks for that miwo, 333 watts seems a bit high but i guess runing intelburntest on the processor would make the system consume more power higher than normal. can you try to measure your system with...
