The Legacy lives on!
Amazing that this thread is still alive and viable. My board is now in the Philippines being shared by an extended family member.
Hey Cal, I have been away for a LONG time so I am no help for you. maybe one of the other current guys can speak to this....Ace
This is an amazing board and thread. This thread is less than 10K "views" away from ONE MILLION!!! That is gargantuan!!!
it took me 1.47 vcore to hold 4 ghz and make it prime stable...if you didn't care about prime stable then 1.42 would probably do it.
1.35 is not going to get you very far; maybe 500 mhz over base speed.
there are better air coolers than a tuniq..i know since i used that at one time.
depends on the cpu, again, board and memory...AND how much you are willing to push it with voltages.
the only difference other than Mhz is, the multiplier is unlocked on the 9650.
as to one cpu versus another, overclock wise, is really going to depend on where on the wafer did the cpu come from....
page one answers the question;)
thanks, but i sold the board a while back to move on to the X58 chipset (EVGA).
for all users: i updated the links on the first page so you can at least go to the driver & bios page to get the...
no, it has been a very stable board but i have not really pushed the timings at all since i have all dimm slots filled...voltage control is very good...in fact, the latest bios update has allowed me...
i miss you guys!:)
i'll try to stop in more often...my IP35 Pro is still huming along with a Q9650 in it...my wife has it now and she is being a good custodian of it.;)
i moved on to EVGA X58...
i just came up for some air...i've been running deep for all this time!:D
thank you, Nelly.
i tried that link on the 1st page earlier and it did not work...this time it is working...many thanks!
anyone have a working download link (no hassle) for the latest Uguru version?
Vive la France, Felix!:yepp:
the latest firmware tweak issued improved the Falcon 128 gb drives, which i have...my two, mated in Raid 0, 128K stripe, increased in speed a little more than on the front page.
EDIT:...i see that...
did you pop the battery out while pushing the CMOS reset button for at least 15 seconds?..make sure you unplug the power supply and push on the start button after the power LED light extinguishes to...
i see what you are talking about...but why come in here to ask other than to say, "look at me, i got the better board;" which i do not think is the case.
i did 2 hours..my post is back a few pages..i am not a supporter of 8 hours...to many variables can upset the apple cart even with 8 hours under your belt...i say just do the minimum that you would...
21x @ 210 bclk..Prime 95 all 8 cores (2hours); cpu temps averaging 75-82c; vcore @ 1.37-1.38v; memory @ 840 Mhz, 8-8-8-24 w/1T.
...
it also appears that these drives with the indilinx controller need about 7 wipes to clean it out with the "wiper.exe" program...i was suffering some degradation in single and raid...not until i did...
i am going to attach them to the areca 1210 card, to see how and if any does the speed change, after updating the firmware and bios of that card.
you are the funny man..hehe:yepp:
i am loving the board even if there are differences between base line and top line;)
