Honestly I think you are right on the money with the lack of the gap, something is not aligned properly. Probably a defect from the factory.

My Iwaki pushes a ridiculous amount of water. And honestly for 120$ you wont get much better.

Ofc, a lot has changed since my day, back when Cathar and the others swore by iwaki lol.

I just use deltas. I know they will push massive amounts of air and I can always rely on them to be loud as hell.
