Sorry I missed this question.
I also run Prime95 non avx to test stability. For me 2-3 hours does it. I also run memtest86+ from a bootable flash drive. At least a 4 hours of that. If that...
If you are going HEDT, I think AMD is the way forward. I've been on mainstream the last 4 years, so I've stayed with Intel as they still feel more plug and play to me. But lately the Ryzen 3 series...
Nice write up! The old compressed sub ambient days!
Long time indeed. I was crusing through old posts reminiscing a little. Joined these boards right after Icrontic went down. My kids also grown and out of college now. Feeling damn old at 53.
I...
Hello to everyone
I thought I'd pop in here to see what was up. I was googling some old school sub ambient cooling stuff and low and behold I see XS is still up and running!!
I agree with...
Just voted.
Been running water cooled 24/7 for years. If a loop leaks, it's going to do it within day 1. If you can't build a water system that doesn't leak, or you are fearful of leaking, put down the hose...
Holy thread resurrection Batman!
I do think that it is indeed a hit to the other reviewers to get the jump and post ahead of the NDA lift. It might not be illegal, but ethically it certainly is questionable.
That said, I know...
Exactly.
And I concur. Outdated chipset, outdated architecture, and crappy overclocking to boot.
I'm disappointed that the IB-E overclocks so poorly. Some of the reviews tried to put a good...
Raja,
I was getting ready to flash to BIOS 4310 but I see on the ROG forums a good number of users with Turbo and C-state issues. Are these being resolved?
I
I'm sorry you do not care for my opinion but I stand by it. As the CFO/CIO of a small business with about 600 desktop workstations deployed I am firm in my belief that Win 8 is a disaster on...
If you are stable in offset with low voltage, why don't you simply leave it that way. Offset is preferred anyway with lower voltage and heat at idle.
I will add that the very fact MS didn't bother to add their own integrated desktop shell rubs me. It smacks of a puproseful attempt to kill the dektop space.
Loaded Win 8 a few weeks back.
3 days later I blew that abomination off my drive and went right back to Win 7.
Win 8 is cool for tablets and all-in-one touchscreens. Some cool features are...
USB keyboard?
Try a USB 2.0 port?
Sometimes you do.
When you calculate that the value of your product in the pipe will drop when the new technology is released, and that drop in value exceeds the combination of demand and price...
First off, I do really recommend the ripjaw Z series. Ripjaw X can throw sporadic issues on X79. Because the X are marginally stable on X79, I am not surprised that a little extra heat can be the...
Set VCCSA to fixed not offset. Set between 1.15 and 1.25.
It is really important you get some X79 Quad Channel memory off the QVL.
AA is normal code. System turned over to OS.
Although I agree disabling HPET is not optimal, folks have been doing so for ages to overcome hardware related stability issues on add in cards and on board peripherals. This is typically used to...
Have you tried setting your PCIE to Gen 2 ?
Also, try disabling HPET (high precision timer).
Asus P9X79 for the win. I run this board in my son's rig and it rocks. Running ram disk, 64gb, and 3930k at 4.7 all day long with basic water cooling. It never skips a beat. Running Gskill on the...
I would definitely look at your PSU. I would also take a hard look at the power lines to and in your home. The odds of 3 faulty mobos and a single faulty CPU in one platform build are already...
