I wonder could amd make FX9590E with 5/4ghz clockspeeds staying within 125w TDP? Does anybody know how much FX9590 takes watts when running single thread at 5ghz?

I think FX8350 heat output is just waaaay too high for any reasonable peltier setup. Here is a nice software that can be used to calculate peltier stuff:

For amd, Samsung & GF:s 14nm manufacturing process cant come out soon enough. In the long run its propably not so bad that they went 28nm bulk but naturally it was kind of dissapointment to find out...
I think it would be nice to see amd apu with six cpu cores and bit fewer gpu cores. It would have somewhat decent cpu power and hsa features.
Its just typical marketing bs. They start to sell 4 cpu + 8 gpu core apu:s as 12 core apus. So nothing new is coming. I hate to be right about this.
I think one of amd:s problem is that for convincing investors (or something) they start talking about unreleased products years and years before the launch. They should propably stop doing that so...
You have to remember that manufacturing costs is just one thing. They also have to cover huge R&D costs and to make profit.
I would rather get quad core with slower clockspeed than high clocked...
Competing years and years obsessively with intel resulted in huge amount of debt and near bankruptcy of the company so that is why they had to make change to strategies. If they had continued with...
I insist you to stick a peltier to it Flank3r !!! I dont know why but seeing that setup gave me some nostalgic feelings... maybe its the cooler or something.. :)
Amen to that.
If you have high end cpu and dont like Mantle there is one option you can do:
Dont use mantle. That will show them.
People with low end cpus or apus propably dont mind getting free 0-40%...
You are living in the past man. You might not like this new amd but after these console deals now they are doing better than long time. This is said by Rory Read in 2012: "We have to have our eyes...
Thats pretty neat :)
I dont know if i break some kind of forum etiquette by posting quote from another forum which is written in finnish but ill do it anyway:

I think sweet spot for AMD APU:s might be six cores because that would bring 50% increase to those FPU:s compared to quad core. To be honest I say this without knowing anything.
You just have too high expectations. Titan is a monster of a card.
I think the best way to compare development is performance/mm^2 or performance/watt. I understand from 7970 to R9 290X another of...
Looking at your rig one could make bold guess that you arent exactly a treehugger? :)
Elop did Microsoft favor that was propably worth over ten billion dollars.
I hope that he will be chosen to next CEO of Microsoft. Perhaps he would start by making a burning platform memo that...
Am i crazy or does that "Hassan Mujtaba" -dude write a lot about made up bull:banana::banana::banana::banana: rumours?
I think he is about as credible source as this guy:

I think Rory Read has just read some Art of war from Sun Zu. Here are few quotes that pop to my mind :)
-Do not repeat the tactics which have gained you one victory, but let your methods be...
Perhaps you just have too high expectations from each generation?
Both companies have people there calculating how to make the most profit. If they made huge chips there would be also risk that...
I have to say it would be cool to see Riva TNT3 from Nvidia :)
I like the idea of having year in the naming. Simple version could be just year - speed (perhaps some kind of average relative speed compared to last years single core flagship). Like R1302 or R1315...
Looking at how FX-9590 was named they are doomed to fail anyway. They just cant hold the line. Therefore it doesnt really matter much if the flagship will be named as Strawberry and the low end...
