Preliminary development of DX12 started in 2009 actually. In June of that year, MS brought a working group together with NVIDIA, AMD, Intel, ARM, and several other players in the engineering & game...

Personally, I am more excited for the Pentium...
Something was lost in translation. DX12 i a "facilitator" API which brings programming closer to the metal. It is similar to Mantle and uses many of the same concepts but is, under no circumstance,...
I actually want to know if AMD's frame pacing can be easily carried over into Mantle apps. If that doesn't happen, minimum FPS or not, the experience will be a disaster at higher framerates.
I honestly have no idea. It all depends on how many functions they can actively carry over to Mantle.
These aren't next gen products but rather engineering mules. The final designs will look quite a bit different.
No, the reason there is such a variance is that Starswarm was coded especially for Mantle. It's beyond a best case scenario. In 90% of the Mantle titles we see for the next few years, the standard...
I have to agree with that.
AMD was claiming 300% improvement for the Starswarm demo.
45% is for BF4 with the A8 7600.
To me, that's particularly important since even a 15% bump in...
My friend said it the best: by the time BF4 is fixed, it will be irrelevant.
It has already been delayed. It was supposed to roll out in the first week of December.
Have Battlefield 4′s Woes Delayed AMD's Mantle Roll-Out?
EA strikes again........
Litecoin miners are picking up anything they can. One of the only reasons many stayed away from the R9 290X was due to its high temps and fluctuating clock speeds. If you look at the $ / hash...
A little inside info for everyone:
According to two of my major NA retailer contacts, even though AMD's cards are getting sold out due to their mining abilities, it is more a resupply issue than...
I'd pay good money for that.....
So they built a chassis with ZERO airflow and claim that represents an accurate metric for measuring graphics card in a real world environment?
It also shows a fundamental misunderstanding of...
It was a generalized observation. I make it in pretty much every thread. ;)
Luckily, this time the rumor ended up being right but the practice of blowing performance out of proportion needs to...
Not true. There's more than enough bandwidth on a PCI-E 2.0 interface to support two R9 290X's.
The guy sounds like he doesn't know what he's doing. The GPU-Z bug was fixed already.
They can do whatever they want. Power consumption isn't an issue with the HD 7990 and GTX 690 requiring 300W+. At this point, the problem is heat.
Correct.
Once you see G-Sync in action, you'll be hooked. I was blown away and I'm a pretty jaded gamer.
get a tripod!
It can't be done with software. The G-Sync module in the monitor is responsible for a large about of processing, hence its 768MB of RAM.
