I use the Zalman ZM1000-HP and it is excellent. Because it is rated so high (1000W) it barely ever needs to spin the fan up. Yes it is expensive, but you really do get what you pay for :)

What fans are you using? I think it is supposed to be better to have the fans in pull if it is running at less than ~1700 rpm, and better to have the fan in push at more than this.

If you have a large res it might slightly improve your temps as it will act a bit like a radiator, but the effect will be really minimal. But as naokaji says - a bigger res will made bleeding much...
