Try to delete all the monitor profiles in registry.
Restart the PC with 1 monitor ( the intended main ) hooked up, then connect the second monitor, arrange them and configure them and see if you are...

I'd also set them up without cases to avoid trapping the heat and giving the coolers more work to do.
