I've listened to recordings done at 16 bit/44Khz and 24 bit 96Khz. Frankly, even with a good set of cans there isn't much of a difference, if any, that I can detect on all but maybe 1 or 2...
Based on what set of data?
That's an apples to oranges to mangos comparison. And its one commonly used by non-objective vinylheads without any hard evidence. Again, the difference in mastering and source for the masters used...
