I don't recall any failures due to vrms. The only thing that I do remember is ocp kicking in with OCCT. AMD's reference designs always seem well done.

Yeah, they've managed to at least match (usually surpass) the previous generations dual gpu card with their single gpu flagships.

You just described half of the service industry. There are a lot of more frivolous wastes of electricity. Much like those wastes this can have a positive impact on the economy.

I paid not much more for my entire display. Hell, I've seen the 248qe sell for $200 on Newegg at one point.

I don't game in 2d on this display, thats what my 120hz catleap is for.

Not if you like to use vsync. It'll feel smoother with less input lag.

I've sort of become accustomed to not using vsync at high framerates thankfully. I would love to be able to use gsync though.

Thats not what I saw. Most 290x won't hit 1100mhz at stock voltage 100% stable I'm not talking about clocks just stable enough to run 3d mark.
