AMD Launches Ryzen PRO CPUs: Enhanced Security, Longer Warranty, Better Quality
Care to expand here?
So, they optimized it for consumers, and AMD cards are not? How?
As for future proofing, GCN seems to fair better at nearly every step there, so again, please expand.
Most of my later posted results have the windows clock in them, and all of them are from the last few weeks, with the exception of the link to my llano results from like 4-5 years ago.
I've mostly...
Was extremely confuddled as to why the linux version of blender was nearly 2x faster for this cpu, while power draw was close. Turns out blender as provided makes construction cores look horrible -...
Chew* - Out of curiosity, is the voltage difference from the DMM to software a fixed offset, or a percentage? Also, are different boards of the same model consistent in the skew?
I tried this with the A10 - Its too sad of a result to post ..... I even tried to 'cheat' using the iGPU but its not GCN so it wouldn't do OpenCL.
If I had access to my Llano I would've liked to see...
Some iGPU/combined results:
3Dmark06 - did this one to see how Richland compared to my Llano submission way back when: yeroon_3dmark06_radeon_hd_6550d_9462_marks

Spent the morning playing with a CB R15 overclock.

Commanded Vcore was getting a little high for my tastes at the 4.9 mark (1.528v)...
Haven't played with pi before. Not sure if The Stilt's fix is allowed. This is still warm. Will retry with a cold loop some other time.

Richland 6790K considered old enough to play? ( I've been playing with the best stable OC on this recently - custom SFF water cooled - 4.7Ghz currently)
I'm not exactly stateside, but I have access...
I only got 1 email during the voting period, and received another one a couple days ago that was clearly from before the voting had ended. I think there is something wrong with the mailing system.
There may be some measurable latency differences in how many cycles things take between uarches and memory, but theres NO way they are going to noticeably affect user feel, as those "differences" end...
Trinity never clocked well, Richland is a very good clocker. Its a way bigger difference than BD to PD.
I recall them saying the new puma cores weren't coming to am1 right away.
And really, you'd be pissed that a $60 chip went obsolete so fast?
Kabini's been out for a while, just not in socket form. Or are you referring to something else?
They made some pretty big "talent pool" improvements somewhat recently. It also seems that they have very much been creative with the change in leadership, the apu's, HSA, HUMA, Mantle, semi-custom...
I'm going to assume (i know, bad idea) that by several DAW's, that at least a few of those do not require an Apple machine. And that opens up a huge range of both consumer and workstation grade...
Yes, definitely x2.
I really appreciate having the answers given to me! :)
If you want a rackmount, build a rackmount. Don't complain a desktop doesn't make a good rackmount. Its not like this is the only choice out there for every single application possible.
I'm not...
Since you say task manager, I'm going to guess you are running this on a windows machine?
To make heat, your best option is to run it on linux. I seem to recall a hefty points and temp increase for...
Yes, there is a larger perf/watt bias when talking about the larger cores. However the Cat cores are also facing this against the bay trail atoms. Just check out Anands 5350 review with Intel's C2750...
If i read the financial report at Anand properly, that includes a (the final?) 200M payment to GF from its penalty.
Kobaltrock, I think you're missing that fact that AMD was plagued with poor...
Who puts trashcans up on a desk, which is where these mostly end up considering their size?
I agree, terrible review. However, does anyone have any more recent reviews with hopefully some new(ly)...
Yup, thanks for the reference document OC. BTW I had the same question as well today
Voted. However I tried to do the extra vote question but it just tells me I have already voted and doesn't give me a question. OC pointed out Opera12 doesn't work. I second that, Opera Next (12.16)...
