Not sure what liquid they run in those systems, but you should be ok for benching as the water is moving. And I guess you wont leave the rig outside 24/7 :D

This was the way my 4870x2 ended its life as well. IIRC its due to the actual GPU being damaged, but not 100% sure (was a few years ago..). Remember that I wasn't alone with having this issue, so...
