I ran the self-test on the power supply and got a green light on it.
I think clogged micro-channels on the CPU water block from the previous red-dye coolant degrading. I'm going to take apart the...

Wasn't the fan. Was the motherboard. Guess I need to find an old Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD7 motherboard to buy.
Looks like it MIGHT just be a fan motor burning up.. which would be great news because that would cost me exactly $0 to fix, because I already have a spare fan. Guess I'll see the next time I get...
Well... working on my old "blue on black" computer to try to re-do the lighting and water cooling loop and wiring... I made a classic mistake.
I plugged in the power supply to test out the...

I got the motherboard back. Different serial number, guess it couldn't be fixed easily. Starting to work on it again today.
Question... can I just cut off the extra cable length on the front...
My red sleeve and heat shrink arrived today, along with some new SATA cables and the fan power distribution board.

Now to install the CPU into the motherboard, install the motherboard into the case, and install the gpu into the motherboard, and connect all the cables and tubes....
Except....
DISASTER!

Adding in one more 8-pin power connector, now ready to plug the 24-pin back in.
One 6-pin for SATA power, one 6-pin for fan, pump, and lighting power, one 8-pin for PCIe power, one 8-pin for CPU...
Opening up the motherboard box. Note the "do not disturb" doorknob hanger. Too funny! I love it.

Now to figure out the routing of the cables.
How big is the big motherboard cable? Will it fit?

Now to plan out the cooling loop.
Looks like I got the wrong...
Now for the radiator and push/pull fans.
Unboxing the radiator gives a radiator and some screws.

Now for the HDD's.
Unboxing an OEM HDD gives you... well... just the HDD. They're cheap like that.

This is my second build ever. First build was here.
I learned from this build, and I learned that no matter what components I picked, there was always something else I should have chosen instead....
