I am certain I will buy a Titan Black for doing my compute work. I have been waiting for it for ages. :welcome:
great. looks like qsoft is a winner again:up:
I looked at the task manager, it seems to me my RAM usage is close to 64GB while I was writing the image. I think I should free up more RAM while writing the image and see if it improves.
I tried 54GB today with Qsoft. Took 3min to create. When I tried to write the image, it took about 15min. My HDD read speed is 1030MB/s, write speed is 208MB/s
Finally find a good ramdisk software - Qsoft ramdisk 5.3.1.10:clap:
Read speed is improved by 15% compared to Superspeed 10.0.1:D
Also, only took 2min to create 46GB ramdisk.
I think...
I will give this a try too.
If you do this, can you still restore data from image during boot up?
Hi Raja, is it necessary to have "Intel XMP Certified QUAD CHANNEL" marked on my RAM packaging?
Hi Raja, I have another problem. I reconnected my SSDs to the Intel ports. Set them up as RAID0 and tried to install Windows 7 Ultimate. At the early part of installation, I know I need to load F6...
I have eight Corsair Vengeance DDR3-1600 CL10 RAM sticks. The problematic stick is always located at D1 which is the first RAM slot. It shows Abnormal in the SPD DRAM menu when the system shows...
I tried Gilisoft today. It took only 1min to create 8GB NTFS ramdisk. However, it still takes very long time to create a 54GB NTFS ramdisk. Can other people confirm???
Can you create a small FAT32 ramdisk and then format it as NTFS? I couldn't do it. So I need ramdisk program that can specifically support NTFS
Hi Raja, I followed your instructions:
1) set VCCSA voltage to 1.15V
2) load XMP in OC Tuner
3) set secondary timing to 7-208-12-8-40-8-Auto and third timing to 6-6-6-6-6-6-4-4-6-Auto
but the...
Hi Raja, I updated the BIOS to the latest one and increased VCCSA to 1.15V but the missing RAM problem is still here. What do you mean by "load XMP"? Where can I do this in the BIOS?
My bottleneck has nothing to do with the source because creating an empty ramdisk was taking that long.
If you are interested in my source, it is dual Crucial M4 64GB in RAID0. So I am certain it...
My problem is making an empty NTFS 54GB ramdisk is painfully slow with Superspeed Ramdisk Plus. I just want to know if others have similar experience. Or they know a faster NTFS ramdisk program.
I...
Good to hear that you are going for 64gb RAM.
The 30min figure is only a guess. I think in reality it takes much longer. It takes such a long time every time you create the RAMDISK, so if you are...
Hi Raja, someone told me I am slow because I inserted my drives to the Marvell ports. He said I should insert them to the Intel ports. Is this true?
I suppose if I re-insert into Intel ports, I...
Hi Raja, I have another problem, today I benched my 2 x Crucial M4 64GB RAID0 with Crystal Disk Mark. It says my drive is only 300MB/s for read. But other people told me one single M4 should bench...
Does Dataram support NTFS??
How long does it take to create 54GB NTFS ramdisk?
I am using superspeed ramdisk plus now. It took half an hour just to create the 54GB NTFS ramdisk, so I am...

Is it true that the drivers on the first column are all in the kernel such that there is no need for ndiswrapper to work??
oh never mind. I finally figured out how to flash bios using the bios flash button.:D
x79 sabertooth manual section 3.10.4 mentioned a BIOS updater I can download from asus.com to upgrade BIOS. I couldn't find it at asus site. Can Raja help?? Thanks!
Oh well, I tried to upgrade BIOS using EZ Flash inside the BIOS but my machine is dead now. I renamed the ROM to SABERX79.ROM per the manual's instruction and press the BIOS button next to the USB...
My WPN111 has atheros chipset, how do I make it work on my Ubuntu 64-bit???
