Got the MSI Z790 Tomahawk setup, somehow managed to stabilize 5105 CL17 on my Micron B die DDR4.

1.71v dram, 1.55v VDDQ, 1.35v SA.

I'm considering a 13900KS next as it looks like very few 13900K's are OCing all that well.

Get a top end DDR4 setup then then keep it for some time like I did back when I had my X58.

Also 4500CL15 on the 10900k was 41.9ns latency, I forgot to test at 4600CL15.

Gears ruined my latency, no idea what was different about the 10900k.

I dont bother with 4600 on Z690, its either highest on gear 1 or highest on gear 2, and my IMC is too low at gear 1 for this kit to get...

I already took it as low as I could, but performance starts to drop below 1.115v LLC1 as the CPU stops boosting :(

I'm planning on a 13th gen Pentium and B660 to update my aging G4560 test bench...

So after fully testing and tuning, 1.115v at max LLC was the lowest I could go without losing performance, also somehow my multithread results went up a lot - likely due to forcing the cache as well...

Well I tried pushing it some more to the point of bricking Windows 11 and needing to reinstall.

At 1.8v 4666 and 4700 CL15 will boot but error quickly and led to the brick.

12400 is faster than the 10900K in all reviews so ok. Even the Celeron G6900 has faster single threaded performance at stock. Clock speed is meaningless when comparing chips of different generations....

Its worth noting that even the I5 12600 non K will be much better than your current 8700K. These new Alder Lake chips are quite amazing.
