Hey everyone. I'm now fully here at XtremeSystems (instead of splitting my time between two teams). I'm thinking about upgrading my liquid cooling system on my oced i7 860, currently at 4 ghz and I...
Is there an XS facebook group?
I hope no one takes offense at my comment, as I don't intend to cast aspersions on religious belief in an inappropriate venue...
Hey everyone, I'm somewhat new here, and I know that this probably isn't the right place for this, but...
I just got an A on my master's thesis at Harvard Divinity School and guaranteed my place...
Me: I can has pie?
XtremeSystems: No. Stupid noob. You only have an octocore...
GPUGrid just hammers out so many WUs a day!
Does anybody know how to build a radiator/pump system to cool the oil? I won't need it for the PC I'm testing now (it's too slow to produce enough heat to worry me), but if it works, my friend's old...
Hey guys, you got my 16k ppd from my oced 260 GTX Core 216 (will also be doing some folding for XtremeSystems F@H during the winter since apparently it stresses the GPU more and produces more heat -...

I don't think you get it. It would freeze (oil freezes at a higher temp than water, I believe), and then you would have 2 very small isolated areas that were liquefied from the heat of the cpu and...
Then it would be too thick and not circulate the heat.
Ok, on my old team this would be considered extreme. But then again, the team name wasn't XTREME SYSTEMS, so I guess this is just par for the course.
That said, you do understand that this is WILDLY IRRESPONSIBLE. I give no guarantees as to the success of the project, but these videos give some indication of what to expect.
BEST GUIDE (fwiw):...
Here's a crazy idea if you're into case mods, but you could partition the aquarium with a thick glass plate. You could caulk it into place and have a PC side by side your fish tank. And it actually...
Hey PoppaGeek, I think your radiator cooled version of the oil cooled pc is a great idea! I've incorporated some of that design philosophy into my pc with intake vents from the outdoor in winter (in...
Does it really stink?!?!? That would suck. Eventually it will live in a cool, dark basement, but for now it would live in a two bedroom apartment (two huge box fans intake/exhaust air through the...
Thanks for all the tips and advice. I've been running WCG since 07 and did Grid.org before that. I've been running GPUGrid for about a yearish and have loved it so far. I think I'm going to stick...
I think 260 GTX Core 216 is still best bang for buck, if my math looks right...
So, I don't really care that mineral oil isn't the ideal cooling medium, or that the pc we're making is slow and crappy beyond estimate. What I care about is the proof of concept. So here's the...
Hey all, I'm a new member and I'm trying to decide between the combo of WCG and GPU GRID here, or FOLDING@HOME CPU/GPU. I have a 260 Gtx Core 216 oced to 673 mhz and a q6600 running @ 3.1 on air...
