So, apparently,...
Anvil, was using Endurance test on a HD, and it stopped with a floating point div by 0 error...
This is with win 8.1 update 1
I don't see error logs anyplace... it was just a dialog.
So, they have a new plan... a new x86 core, and ARM.
Looks like the ARM stuff will be out first, and then the new x86 core, but, it looks like late 2017 for that, unless they have been working on...
Ugh, just read AMD's financial report...
The CPU division is down another 12%.
GPU is doing better--hell, it is carrying AMD now.
Their next move is to have ARM based server chips, and low...
This is so depressing, been a AMD user ever since the socket A days, and even with all the problems with the VIA / nforce 2 chipsets, I still stuck with AMD throughout the years, since there was...
OCZ's customer support was one of the best I have dealt with.
They provided red label shipping for 2 faulty (panic locked) SSDs, can't ask for more than that, and that was direct from Taiwan!

"AMD has said the video cards can saturate a PCIe 3.0 x16 bus bandwidth; 16GB/s bi-directional. " ... and there is no AMD chipset that supports this natively.
That is just so depressing. :shakes:...
R9 (290 or 290x)cards are out now (today it launch day)... it has the best bang for the buck at this time.
There are no 8000/9000, since they have a new naming scheme.
...
Good choice, it is best to stick with what you have now...
Not really worth it to get 16GB RAM, if you don't have RAM intensive stuff. 8GB is more than enough right now, unless your into video...
With the paper launch of their new GPUs, it became obvious that there will be no crossfire connector, and instead use the PCIe bus.
Now, since AMD doesn't even have a chipset that can support PCIe...
The problem is, there is virtually nothing new going on with AMD that concerns people on this forum, they won't have a product out that is in line with the competition for the foreseeable future, and...
Huh?
It is OS independent, as I wrote, but you missed, I said both windows & linux.
Yeah, that board.
It just is odd that the only thing that don't work now is the USB ports.
Keyboard still works (PS/2 port).
CPU & RAM check out fine as well.
This is really odd, everything has been great with this board, except for today.
All of the sudden, I would try to move the mouse, and I hear the connect/disconnect chime windows does when you...
Forgot to mention, tried different RAM as well.
Using the other boards CPU, a A64 3200+ it works well in both motherboards, so it seems that the poor 165 is waving the white flag. :(
It was a good...
I have a Opteron 165, and it isn't o/ced, but, it is causing strange issues on multiple boards.
On one board, it just shuts down the system, and then the POST code when you tried to start it shows...
While the drivers may still be crappy (both camps), the problem is the installer they use should automatically uninstall for you, and then install. There is no reason that they shouldn't do this,...
They will appeal...
and lose again... and appeal...

I am not sure he will ever show up with that nickname again, however, one reason he isn't 'here' is because of the quiet period most likely.
It loses in MT performance as well, the X6 even beat it in some MT tests.
The current line of BD will never shine, there is just not enough tweaking that can be done to save it, unless you want the...
With all these smoke & mirrors about how some people with hands on time with BD saying they would get this for their next system, was about what ? Just for them being able to break GHz records ?...
I wonder how many fruit baskets Intel has sent the new CEO of AMD for this debacle ?
All those people waiting expecting something better than their older CPU from AMD... well, they all just went...
Pile driver's 10% gain will most like be optimizations, but since those pics were more leaks, I have no idea how true that 10% figure is.
What is being talked about in the (3%) patch is the way BD...
