Uh.. help? :(
But could this broken/missing cap be the reason why the card wont work?
Is it like important thingy?
Really need help with this one.
Hi. I bought a dead X1950 pro to see if I can fix it. The card doesn't post when plugged in.
On closer examination, I noticed, that the card is missing 2 smd caps. One is near the core and other...
Is that orange thing a switch? If it is, then you can flip it to turn the vmod off.
Add few drops of alcohol in the pipe and seal it off. Dont fill it completely.
Try rubbing alcohol or something like that.
The heatpipe doesnt work anymore. You wont have leakage problem, because there is gas inside.
Yes, post pictures.
I currently use 60watter from local hardware shop. I think with higher watt iron you have less chance to burn something, because you only touch the place you solder for only a second or less.
You can take ground from the Fan connector GND pin.
Topalof, what is written on these IC-s?
I wanna see more stuff like this.
So its dead now? Or maybe you have some other 4850 to cut up and use with it ? :D
Measured resistance before penciling - 3.66 ( as it is normally ), then booted it up and got voltage ( 1.84 ) and then shut it off, took card out and pencilled it. Got reading 3.55 or so. Then I put...
I tried with DMM and it told me that this resistor and FB pin are connected. After that I penciled away. But it did the opposite of what I wanted and it lowered the voltage.
Looks like I'll wait...
well, the resistance is same as FB pin and ground on the resistors. So it looks like its connected to FB pin.
Oh well, gona give it a try :)
So I got the multimeter and measured the resistance ( selected 20k on multimeter. ) and got 3.66 on Mem chip and 7.17 on gpu chip. So when I multiply it with 20, I get 73.2 for mem and 143.4 for gpu....
Thanks.
So, if I got it correctly, then I can measure the volts by poking the solder points on that thing called 1.7L FALCO? So basically following the same formula, I should be able to get vMem...
Hello! I would like to learn how to vmod graphic cards.
So..
How to find the right place where to solder a resistor?
How to find voltage measure points?
How do I find out which chip/thingy...
Does anyone know if this works with Gigabyte 4670 too?
Your E2160 bottlenecks it. Even @ 3.8ghz.
If you are into budget CPU-s, then look @ E5200 or E7200.
