I went with 5% Mayhem - 50 ml, 950 ml distilled. Assume the nickel plating is coming off does this really have any impact on my loop?

It doesn't wipe off. I think it's where the nickel has come off.

The brownish ring - specifically the brownish area located at the 10 o'clock position on the fitting. It appears to be corrosion of the nickel but I don't know why.

True. Dell has a great return and warranty program - at least that has been my experience.

Their return process was fairly painless. The bright side is that G-Sync displays are finally here. Time to try a few of those. :D

I recommend staying away from this display or any other 4K display - at least for now. I went through 3 displays before I said screw it.

Good feedback - thanks. I tend to go overboard when I build a system and I see now I did so in terms of number of pumps. Turning off the second pump dropped the flow down to ~50 gal/h from ~70 gal/h....
