I'm currently running a i5 3570K on an MSI Z77IA-E53.
A few weeks ago, I got this result while stress testing on stock voltage.

While keeping things as stock, my...
Wow, thanks for that catch... that's really strange (I was wondering why I wasn't getting errors when the CPU-z voltage reading was going down to ~0.8v). I don't understand why CPU-z will show the...
Has anyone gotten power saving features (e.g. lowing clock rate during idle)? I can't seem to get this to kick in during an OC with C1E and C-states enabled.
Currently have an i5 3570K paired up with a MSI Z77IA-E53. It seems to be an average chip--does 4.2-4.3GHz on stock volts. The build is in a mITX size case (Silverstone SG05) so I'm trying to keep it...
UPDATE: Well, that was anticlimactic... seems like the constant jostling of the case from moving in an out of the house/dorm caused the 20pin part of the 20+4pin cable to get loose. Pressed it in...
Cooling isn't the issue anymore, all of the components get plenty of ventilation (and have been since I switched cases in 2009).
My current desktop is a good mishmash of components given all of the parts I've had to replace along the way. The first configuration consisted of a:
Q6600 @ 3.5GHz, 1.38v
EVGA 750i SLi
EVGA...
Your PLL is quite low for 3.8GHz, though not every chip can do 3.8GHz at 1.53v.
2 cores 2 threads?
What memory are you using?
Not a Sandy Bridge user atm--but I have an interesting observation for Sandy Bridge when it comes to LinX (since there's so many LinX results in this thread). It seems that it has a negligible, if...
Lol, why is AMD referred to as "农企"? Only peasants use AMD products?
UPDATE:
It was a really pain in the ass because the CPU socket is UNDER the motherboard... had to take the laptop completely apart

Everything works!!

You should probably look at the last few pages of this thread:

There are some that have done 4GHz Prime Stable
UPDATE:
Well after some browsing on Ebay and some speculation, I came across a Phenom II N620 (as mentioned earlier) for $80. I figure the max I was willing to spend on a CPU upgrade was $45--I...
I have an HP G56-127NR (as mentioned in last thread) with an V140... The HP Service/Maintenance Guide lists a few dual-core variations of this laptop (P320, etc)... so should I expect to be able to...
@OP, I've had similar issues when my Q6600 was flaking at 3.6GHz... and in that case it was my PSU that was slowly dying. You're not going to see it in everyday use, but PSUs can cause instability...
Really? I'd think XP has a smaller footprint which would be better for a single-core laptop like this one --plus I thought that I wasn't going to get real DX10 use on a Radeon 4250 anyway so XP would...
I picked up a cheap AMD notebook on Black Friday, and I'm trying to decide if it's possible to wipe the hard drive and put Windows XP 32 on it. The problem lies in that while there is a lot of driver...
Well it seems that the card isn't artifacting or crashing anymore... I don't understand why it wouldn't work well when I first brought it back to stock clocks.
EDIT: I spoke too soon... just...
After my 9800GX2 sort of kicked the bucket I had to switch to my backup 8400GS (free from Black Friday yay). Obviously losing 90% of the performance I used to have is a large jump for me, so I...
Nope, it'll try to assign the same GPU to primary regardless of which is plugged in -it's just a matter if it manages to do so.
Over the past month this lingering issue with my 9800GX2 (2 years old) has been getting worse. It simply refuses to assign one of the GPUs to "primary" during boot, so while all power LEDs are lit,...
He may have updated/reset your BIOS, or swapped out your RAM. (Probably not the latter since that would probably be noticeable)
