Can do close to 3k (2996) with 4 sticks on Hero but for me the sweet spot for performance is 2600-2800 with tight secondaries.

Pretty close, few minor differences. Off the top of my head, I know Gene has mPCIe, Hero does not. You have to get the Extreme to get the mem profiles and such.
My Hero review is live:

Spent many hours with this board so if anyone has...
F12 will give you BIOS screenshots m8
I thought mem timings were locked and not adjustable in windows regardless of software. Raja can you confirm?
Havent heard about a new RIVE, just about BIOS updates for your old one for the new chips. I think ASUS will wait till Haswell E for new boards.
This thread should liven up soon either way. :D
Wow, pretty big difference. Thanks.
Hey Dave, what do the RMAA results look like for Extreme 6? I would like to see side by side vs Hero, do you have that?
I think Ive flushed my loop 3 times over 10 years lol. Never had an issue and I pulled one of my heatercores of of an old van haha. Just use distilled water and a bit of biocide like the op.
I think people are getting tired of buying a whole new system for 5% performance every year. Few that got Ivy are upgrading and some are even sticking with Sandy or SB-E.
Does in really matter where the chips are assembled (Malay vs Costa Rica)? The 22nm come from the same fabs in Hillsboro & Israel anyway. I think it is more luck and where the CPU dies are sliced...
Nice review S_A_V. Im reviewing this board myself and so far my only gripe is not having the profiles like the MVIE. I get that they have to give people a reason to spend the extra $ on the MVIE so...
You said Some programs and benchmarks will benefit greatly from higher uncore frequency. I havent tested it extensively but in a few benches I ran I didnt see any difference in performance based on...
Yeah just reviewed Deluxe: http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum/hardware-canucks-reviews/61681-asus-z87-deluxe-motherboard-review.html
Tested a bunch of features, should be useful for a typical...
This actually has potential if they could ever get it to work the way it should. Every gen is full of bugs and usually leads to more hassle than it is worth.
Z87 Deluxe review is live. If anyone is interested in having a look here it is: http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum/hardware-canucks-reviews/61681-asus-z87-deluxe-motherboard-review.html
Got my 3k, still 1.65v :)

2933 np at 100 bclk but no go on 3000 so I'll have to try 125 strap as well if it helps with mem clocking. Still @ 1.65v. G.Skill Trident 2800.

Nice review steve, looks like a great board for the price.
Not sure I believe it. Curious to see some input from those with retail chips.
3400 at 5.1??? That is crazy. What kind of stability, can you try cinebench?
Im on Deluxe & Hero btw.
Im talking air. Maxing out CPU on air or water absolutely kills my mem oc on ES cpus. Was curious if the retails were as bad.
Roy you able to clock mem well with high cpu clocks on retail chips? I have a few es and they are brutal when cpu is maxed out.
Same mounting as ivy, what's the point of making new blocks?
I would like to keep adaptive voltage, is there a way to set these I/O manually in adaptive mode? If not what is the starting point for the +/-? I dont know if Im blind or what but I dont see a...
