Yes, my hyper 6 has now gone the way of the garbage can. Stupid old braces weren't holding it on all the way anymore. 2.85ghz @ 1.3v max now, have it at 2.8ghz @ 1.35 to ensure stability. Temps have...
got my 165 today... CCBBE 0617 FPMW, terrible batch/wafer # I guess... 1105. Only got it to 2.65ghz@1.425v stable so far. So much for the all around 3ghz+.
Anyone else getting 38C idling @ stock?...
Same here again... AM2 = S754.... AM3 = S939... skip the crap
ditto, also have 939... wait for M2 or whatever they're calling it... AM2 is simply a stepping stone to DDR2 for AMD... just like socket 754 was for 64bit.
check your bios cradle. i cracked mine, same problem - no post. and it was while attempting to upgrade to the 7/4 too. sent it in to dfi, they fixed it free of charge and sent it back asap... pretty...
whyd you blockout the batch number?
OCZ Modstream 450w
Hey, I've had the 1 gb LA kit for about 7 months now, bought in June 05. I've been running them DDR550 this whole time and have always wanted to do 600. But after many attempts using the reccomended...
I dont think much is to be gained from burn in either, but I also believe there must be some physical change to the structure of the core as time goes by and temperatures flux. Extremely small pieces...
unlocked multipliers to 20x or so on the FX? looks like two good candidates for trying to solve the unlock issue with a64s
I recently cracked my BIOS cradle on my DFI ultra... thought the AN8 Sli would be a great replacement. I thought wrong. My Gskill hardly worked on the board, never got it stable, no overclocking at...
in computer engineering world 1mb cache is like 5% gain over 512k, etc...
sounds like you need a bios update? done that yet? taken the ram timings off of auto yet? gotta play around with it, check out some of the DFI Lanparty guides just google it. best of luck, and I...
on my DFI, this pretty much has nothing to do with hard drive, but ram timings... if I play with a timing and the board doesn't like it, it will reboot on the DMI verification... also very low...
I'd reccomend the Hyper 6, works great for me. Temps start out at 25C and idle at around 29, load at 35-38. And I don't even have my IHS off, and I don't see why the hyper6 wouldnt work with it off....
So in the 7/4 bios for the DFI ultra I noticed 'upward' dividers for leaving the fsb and upping the ram speed i.e. (7/6 instead of 6/7) there are a couple more too. I'd love to run my gskill at its...
very cool, 3800+ looks like a good value X2, seems to clock just like the other E3/E4s?
me thinks it has to be in the HW around the die, hidden in a layer maybe, like stephen said, AMD DOES test the silicon quality during manuf. process and they CAN and DO give the dies their respective...
Both my 3500 and 3800 venices refused to prime or OCCT at any speed... maybe its our DFI mobos, maybe some of them just cant handle it? i dunno, but something about the dfi, venice, TCCD combo...
yea, sometimes it seems the chip wants to do 3ghz but yeh, always seems like its windows that wont let me since my DFI lets me boot and post well beyond almost 3.1ghz, either that or the chips just...
my rec: 3700 sandy or a 3800 venice, good stepping off ebay... but i think even a 3200 or 3500 would work... my 3500 is barely faster than my 3800 (lower batch)
right now bf2 needs some fixing i think... doesnt seem to like overclocking much as im sure its generating lots of errors (they didnt bother releaseing the demo before they frigin boxed the game)...
i set up a mobile 1500 system recently... using an arctic cooling basic 3 speed fan and heatsink: 40s idle, 50s loaded @ 1.7ghz. Pretty nice little chip, make sure you got mobo that can change multis.
