And then 3 of these babies in parallel, then you are able to make some HUGE resolutions!!!
But hey, then there is a possibilty for a dedicated screen for every single program you are running!...
Interesting consept.
Making it much less space and volume consuming to build a super computer.
I second that.
And then maybe for those bench-freaks that only thinks about MAX MHz, and don't care about graphix.
It looks very interesting, but question is how quick it will drop in price, so that average joe can affort it.
Passive cooling, is still cooling, so NO, it has not yet been discovered.
But the brackets are still dual slots, and thus you need to cut in them.
But could be a funny thing to do, and then you will for sure need a MoRa2 or similar heat exchanger, to be able to get rid of...
Who will ever be able to use all 7 slots?
GFX will take dual slots, or else you need 7* single slot=low performance. And then think about the heat problem! Darn those center cards will get VERY hot...
Lets get some better controller chips, and a lower price on the SSD's, then this old technology will get obsolete.
But nice with some grater capacity, now we just need some better performance too,...
After reading approx. 1/5 of the posts, I have given up reading all of them, but what I have seen is, that many people say the same: For my use, this is no problem, so WTF, who cares!
My opinion...
Gonna be sweet when they make stuff like this mainstream.
1GB/s Read must be funny to boot XP/Vista from, something like the Youtube video with 4 I-RAM drives @Raid 0 = XP boot = Sub 7 Sec.
That was the "original" SLI
nVidia's SLI is "Scalable Link interface", and thus nothing with each other to do, except the "brand name".
With 3Dfx it was on PCI slots, nVidia's SLI is on PCI-E...
If we keep the comparison to "Big Bang I", then this is probably something like dedicated physix GFX or some SLI like what is posible with 790G chipset, where you have "master" GFX and "slave" GFX...
Why does all these great ideas always have to cost a fortune!
Damn it would be nice to have for "main stream" owners with 8*2GB, and then let the enthusiasts have the extreme RAID setups of them...
Looks exciting.
Hopes it will be at a much better price than the I-RAM drive, so that ordinary people can buy them.
If sub 100$, I would consider to buy one or two, and throw them in RAID.
From...
From a russian DL page? I'm not trusting that link.
Come with a link to the official page, then I'll consider it.
Interesting feature, with the watercooling head integrated in the NB cooling profile, so that you no longer HAVE to buy 3-4-5 waterblocks, to cool each chip, just because you want water on the NB....
They just have to use a much more efficient PSU, such as the FSP Zen or Antec Phantom, wich is passively cooled anyway.
Make it a much bigger tank, and then it should be able to run 24/7.
And what good does it for "the average Joe", whom would like to donate his/her GPU's calculating power to a good cause, such as F@H, Rosetta@Home etc.
ROFLMAO
Fair enough idea, but dang it looks difficult to mount, and heavy, and inefficient.
I just noticed that the PCI-E, EPS and molex are traced together. Thats how it looks in the Carbon Fiber case-link somewhere.
But Yes, if they are traced sepperately, then you could use multirail...
nn_step: It's fair enough to get a second opinion, but when even JonnyGuru links to the test on his own HP, and also to the Enermax Galaxy 1kW review, then there must be some seriousity behind the...
That's true, but I know this page quite well, since I am a Dane, and thus understands the walkthrough of the testbed, and that is some serious gear.:fact:
OK, there is no pic. of the oscilloscope,...
