Yeah, in actual gaming I only ever notice it occasionally in Planetside 2 and maybe one more game, and it's only when I'm in the middle of really big battles.

I would if I could, but I'm pretty sure my old motherboard is holding me back. Raising the CPU multi is a no-go for even booting and upping the base clock by a measly 1 MHz more allows it to boot but...
So, the 7970 and the PSU arrived today. I already had the 10.5 drivers, so I just switched the hardware and ran a quick 3DMark11 test: http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/6729187
:D
^ Nice, though the RMA stuff is sad :(
I ended up ordering a Gigabyte 7970 OC and a Corsair HX650 (80 plus gold). Hoping it will arrive tomorrow, so I can start pushing pixels and stuff this...
Guess I should join you guys :)
CPU Model: AMD Phenom II X6 1055T
CPU Stepping: (Unknown, too long since I installed it)
CPU Frequency: 3562 MHz
CPU vCore: 1.328

Sounds promising :)
Yeah, definitely gonna look into clocking it higher. Still kind of rusty, though, barely done any overclocking since the Socket A days. Man, I feel old :D
Good info about Skyrim and VRAM, zanzabar. Was that with our without any major mods, by the way? Thanks!
CrimInalA: Have you tried running that 7970 of your with your CPU at lower frequencies? Got...
So, I am looking to upgrade from the 6870 1 GB in my sig, especially since some games I play hit 850-ish MB of VRAM with little to no AA at 1080p and I also want to be able to up the settings a bit....
This should at least allow a fair number of people to have an enjoyable experience playing D3 on Ivy laptops, assuming drivers are working properly. :)
The reason most of them are losing so much money is that they spend tons of money making expensive (to develop) and yet unpolished games most people don't want to play and then throw away even more...
This thing looks awesome for what they wanted it to do :D
Or, it's a pie that's meant to make understanding a computer a piece of cake :yepp:
K10stat works beautifully for both overclocking and undervolting with my mobile Llano, so you could always try that :)
Agreed. What AMD said sounds more like they are going to focus on doing what works for them instead of trying to outdo Intel at Intel's own game. Perhaps their new CEO has studied Blue Ocean strategy?
Barely. It does have two islands to drive around, and the are off road cars, but there are no bikes. Car handling feels worse and every new class/group/whatever of cars can only be used once you get...
It would have been a lot easier financially if they still had the income from the HDD business to fund the transition, though...
Poor people of Thailand :(
They actually named the HTML 5 parser 'Ragnarök'? :D
Sony Ericsson's newer Xperia phones are supposed to come with an unlockable bootloader. Some other manufacturer (can't remember which one) went from unlocked to locked bootloaders around the same...
Indeed, it's too long to be i7-980X.
If you look at the system specs presented in the end of the video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8rDwXuAINJk&t=1m38s, it mentions that the Cinebench system is...
Rip :(
Sweet! :D
Could it have been that you read it in something that was related to the hard drive failure study that Google did? http://labs.google.com/papers/disk_failures.pdf
If I read the charts correctly,...
Sounds great!
1) It's quite affordable
2) Amazon has a lot of content to offer, and already have the basic infrastructure know-how for that content to be delivered to the buyer in a rather convenient manner,...
Given how inexpensive it will be, it sounds nice :)
