Probably no SMT in the 65W, so an 8C/8T variant with the 95W versions being 8C/16T.
I got my setup at Natex. They have packages with V1's and V2's. Nothing is OC'd, they run at 3 GHz with all 32 threads at 100%. Libby at Natex is very nice to deal with.
So no interest is easy Kaby Lake OC's on air to 5 GHz?
We have both Xfinity/Comcast and Verizon FiOS in my area in northern Prince William county. This is true in all of Northern Virginia so it's not wholly a "Comcast state".
Thanks, I humbly accept this prestigious award!
But how about the smallest Xeon server? Housed in a tiny Spire PowerCube 501 I have a Xeon E3-1230 V3 4 core/8 thread CPU running on an Asus...
I got bored with regular single-socket setups and picked up some cheap used server parts to play with. I initially purchased a Intel S2600CP2J Dual LGA 2011 eATX, 2 x Xeon E5-2670 (16C/32T), and...

I don't think I'll ever upgrade CPU/Motherboard for atleast another ____ years!
Good question, so let me try to flesh out an answer. I've been upgrading and downgrading constantly with new builds...
That truly is a magnificent build, but I can't spend the time for all of that work, plus I'm not talented or motivated for such a mammoth effort. I buy stuff, slap it in a case and run it. Once...
We put in a system for the IRS 20 years ago that has been through two major HW "refreshes" and we're now planning #3 for next year. But we still have a Dell powerEdge 2400 dual PIII 400s running...
Well I don't build, need or use any of the high-end servers I've seen in this thread, but have always liked building and using duallie workstations. Here's a compilation of photos duallies I've...
I realize that this forum is pretty cutting edge and has mostly moved on to Sandy Bridge - E builds, but I finally got around to a plain old Sandy Bridge i5 setup. The cheap Microcenter bundle price...
Car History in chronological order of purchase:

1965 Pontiac Grand Prix - First work car (1969)
1972 Mercury Capri V6 - First new car

Yeah I'm old, no denying that, but back then wasn't what you'd call a hippie. From 1968, when I left college after 1-1/2 years taking electronics technology, to the time that photo was taken, I...
It's actually a nice driver, not really up to show standards. Only 56K original miles though and it cost me just $9K - I spent another $2K for the wheels, tires, shocks, exhaust repair, rebuilt...
I picked up this '72 Cougar convertible for my beach house last spring. Nice cruiser for the Delaware beaches and Ocean City. All I had to do to it was add the wheels, tires, new shocks, patch up...
I've got one running for about 6 months now with an older C0 stepping i7 920 running at 4 GHz. It's never crashed, dual 4870s in Crossfire running off of a 750W single rail Power PC & Cooling PSU....
