$160 to fix both? It might be worth it if you have the stuff to make a full system out of them. I think you will lose money if you pay to fix them then try to sell them.
I would try different power cables from the psu and see if that changes anything. Nothing to lose, right? if that doesn't work, there is a chance its time to go to the hardware graveyard.
I'm sure its possible. Look at the process for reballing. It should be relatively similar since you need to take the southbridge (or northbridge) chip off each motherboard anyways.
Good wireless router + good usb wireless dongle(or PCI cards) and you shouldn't have any problems.
I can't speak for rooting / different firmwares. However, I have a couple apps that I love and use on a daily basis.

Awesome project log! I'm really interested in the Arduino coding / timing LED stuff. Either way, keep up the awesome work!
I was hoping to read this thread and finally come to a "personal" solution to this issue. Everything I've thought of to solve this issue has drawbacks / loopholes. Take the sandy hook incident. It’s...
This might be too good to pass up. Does anyone know if there would be plug-n-play for a laptop? I know they are 2.5" so it would fit. Would everything else line up?
I've heard of people using simple green + distilled water to clean off motherboards. Here is a link (I'm not sure if I can link to other forums. If not I'll remove it):...
Thanks for checking it out. As for the files that are "missing", I looked up online that since hijackthis is a bit dated that it doesn't work very well with Windows 7. There were a couple things I...
Hey guys, its been a while since I visited. I hope everyone is doing well. Anyways, here is the scoop. I've been having random popups appear when browsing (was using IE9 for websites that don't work...
According to Engadget, it won't be out until March (end of march). Otherwise it looks like a nice tablet
Thanks for all the help guys. The Kindle Fire and the HP Touchpad both look nice. I'm keeping an eye out on craigslist + ebay for some good deals. I noticed it looks like the kindle e reader does...
Do you have a link to Woot? I've been checking out newegg for some refurb models. What I'm leery about is there are a lot of companies that I've never heard of that make the cheaper tablets.
Definitely seems interesting, but it seems as though its sold out in the US? Anyone have links to where I can possibly purchase it from (other than Ebay)? The HP website says its sold out.

I would say take the laptop apart, remove the heatsinks (on the cpu, gpu and chipset), blow out all the dust (from the heatsinks, any grills, etc), lap the cooler (if its possible), and reapply w/...
Do any of you guys have experience with some of the cheaper tablets that are available on the market? Maybe the kindle or some of the other ones that are cheap on Newegg's website? The reason I ask...
My brother has the Sony Vaio S Series laptop. i5 and 6gb of ram. Its a really nice laptop. The only thing I recommend (if its possible) is reinstall Windows on it when you get it. Sony loads it...
duron, you are a life saver!!! Thank you so much. I used the batch technique under those forums and it worked just as I wanted! Thank you so much!
As a Christmas present to my dad, my brother and I scanned 830 35mm slides from his childhood and burnt them to a disc. Upon further review, the ones that my brother did are all inverted the wrong...
