I went with the opteron 148, 7800gt, dfi ultra-d. Already have 1gb of redline. Don't see the need for another 1gb at the moment.

Which is the opteron of choice? I notice Newegg is selling a 148 Venus for $235 and a 150 Venus for $338. Both of those out perform the SanDiego?

I have a Vapo LS hooked up to my San Diego 3700+, DFI NF3, 2x512 redline and it powers up the system for about 5 seconds, then shuts the system back down, then powers it up for 5 seconds then shuts...

Actually, some of these mem controllers act funny expecially when they get cold. I've run into it with one of my 3700+'s. It's pretty frustrating.
