:ROTF:
I'm waiting for this for sure! Gotta say...nice work, thanks!
Some more semi-irrelevant minutia...
Same issue, but I found today that after a 'failed overclock' where the board resets to stock volts/speeds, the saved OC profile load-up gives the correct...
Here's the scoop:
The woman has my old E6600 (good for 3.85 Ghz Orthos stable with enough cooling) now that I am beating on an E8400. Right now it is under a Tuniq Tower with a YL SL at 12 volts....
The actual bios setting for the multiplier stays at 9 after rebooting. I noticed this only when loading saved settings from profile 1 or profile 2. It seems like the multiplier field is stuck on 7...
Here's a 'real-life' example of some of the concepts in this thread. A while back I made a video of a D5 pump running at 1 and 5 in a big single loop with a E6600 running at 1.5+ volts. The block...
Stock, 1.1 and 1.25 (minimums in bios)
My wet dream :p:
4.5 Ghz

Dies on small FFT's, pushed vcore to 1.488 before cowardace set in. What do you guys...
Found an interesting goof in the latest bios...
After manually changing the multiplier, saved OC profiles will no longer save the requested multiplier...i.e: You have the multi at 9, save the...
Maybe some car wax will keep it from tarnishing.
THanks! The red is the final lapping, the first picture was just to show the high spots on the IHS. The TIM is Coolaboratory Liquid Metal...excellent stuff, I cant say enough good things about it....
A bit of an upgrade this weekend for my machine...

The IHS is not nearly as wonky as my E6600 was, but still has high spots...
A little follow-up on my E8400 Q750A205 chip. Did a little voltage tweaking beyond what I described in my first post for 100% Orthos stable running.
Final Orthos stable OC's...
On water...
Me too, and good luck!
A few notes...seems this one has a weak second core. I've been finding that at 4.4 & 4.3 core 2 fails one particular 10K fft test ~35 minutes into a blend run. The run...
Got my new Q750A205 8400 running today and looks like this might be a nice baseline at this point. I'm gonna try to tighten up the memory and see how much faster it will go while staying under...
You'll probably have to experiment with fan direction to see what's best. I did a little and found that in one side and out the other was best here. I have thicker radiators with less space between...
Shot in the dark question here...
I have an XBX2 with an Allendale (and whatever bios was supporting this in ~December). I'd like to drop the vcore below 1.2875 as the cpu I have looks happy at...
Wow, that takes a 'filled up' TJ07 to new levels  . What sort of mounting do you have for the D5's and Raptor? Any shots of the rad array?
Very nice looking machine, I love those fans...but I'm too cheap so I'll live vicariously through your machine
Zipties should be just fine.
Excellent photo, really helps confirm things. Looks like solder to me...so no funky thermals like on the paste/??? interface of lesser cpu's (I'm still waiting to beat on an 8500 if they ever become...
Hey, I'm sure it really gets the job done for sure with that pump and nozzle!
Question on the IHS-less 8400...is that still soldered to the die or some sort of phase-change/goop material...
Looking good
I see you have a Raptor drive mounted...wrapping that HDD cage with some of this will make a very noticable difference in noise from the Raptor. Works good on side panels as...
Outstanding photos! That machine is really coming together nicely

For HTPC use, I'd want to throw a bit of caution out there about the heat generated by the P5K board. The -E is the same board as the Deluxe minus a few parts, and lemme tell you, this sucker sure...
