I would like to know if it is possible to run a phase change loop 24/7 for five years. I would like to shoot for -30C @200W. Thank you any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

It is pretty big, and would only handle one 50W fan
Quick disconnects? Check Koolance
Darth, what is your solution chemistry and what current density did you plate at?
Thanks, you are the first to get that. My avatar is actually micron sized particles (small Bond number) that formed the letter E by quadrupolar capllary interactions. Real name is Eric
Sounds really interesting. GL
There is very little benefit from only pulling a moderate vacuum. Here are some calcs from NIST for N2 300K.

Basically any really benefit from a vacuum jacket would occur at lower pressures....
Is there any specific reason that you need a reservoir?
Even if the vacuum jacket could hold a decent vacuum (which would be awesome but difficult), you have created a lot of extra area by adding...
Poor dude, looks like he is showing cameltoe
True 20 bucks is a lot of coke, but you can reuse the concentrated acid many times. Price-wise there really is not a great disparity between the two. But you probably do not want to drink the...
I agree, it is probably a little excessive, but what is 20 bones when you have a few hundred dollars in water blocks.
I use glacial acetic acid to prep my blocks before electroplating.

Here is a block prior to treatment. (This is somewhat of a bad example because the block is not that oxidized but it will...
It is true that thermal conductivity of nickel is smaller than copper (about 25%). But the thickness that one plates nickel is on the order of microns. The thermal resistance will be negligible. The...
They were not erroneous, the test was a great test. They just reach the limits of their equipment. Basically it would be difficult and expensive to perform a similar test with less error.
I think the consensus is that the "water half" is not actually going down. What you are seeing is error in the system.
Hi,
You should really contact the shop, because the hardenss and brightness depend on the type/amount of levelers and brightners added to the bath. These are proprietary and not stated in the...
Hi Martin,
I totally agree with your idea of taking into account flow rate. I mentioned this in one of HES’s posts.

In their test how do they vary their flowrate?
needle valve, change in voltage
Hi relttem,
I just wanted to know which articles you thought were the best reads. I could go to isiknowledge and look up articles, but I didn't want to skim through pointless articles. I was...
Relttem, do you have the actual reference(s). Not the pdfs but the journal title, volume, and page.
As Naekuh pointed out there is a problem of the "red plague". This is not a problem if the you get a relatively thick uniform coat of silver. But if you scratch the some of silver off of the block...
http://www.boltdepot.com/ has pretty much any screw for rads and fans
http://www.trcelectronics.com/ great for auxiliary meanwell power supplies
Silver tarnishes real easy and will look like crap very quickly. You need to protect the silver with some other layer usually rhodium. Ask the platers how they plan on protecting the silver.
Thank you for the responses, they all sound like good ideas. I guess the reason I wanted to go with a heat exchanger is because I want to take the chiller in and out of the window relatively easily...
