I remember.
And all the water cooling debates.
I recently got back into enthusiast happenings with my computer and revamping my cooling loops. So much has changed. Made me miss XS and then I...
That looks easy enough.
So the vice only method is to put the processor in a vice putting pressure on one side of the PCB and the opposite side on the heat spreader only? Slowly applying pressure...
Didn't realize there was a newer prime with AVX... downloaded that. Still runs hot but at least the chips don't throttle. No way stock heat sink could handle this.
As for the third machine...
So a client of mine decided he wanted to go crazy... long story short I am building him 3 computers with 4790k's.
I have one myself, 4.5GHz 1.168v 24/7 stable on air in a Maximus VII Gene.
I...
Hello all. Thought I would share my results with my 4790k. This is 24/7 OC on air.

Little disappointed. But at least I was able to...
Voted. Sorry I didn't see this earlier and/or have more time to multi vote.
It really sounds like to me you are over complicating a very simple problem. If you can get the ports on those mobo's working again then go buy a cheap d-link green switch. The ports power down when...
For anyone interested I still have mine for sale. PM me (ie CPU, Asus nforce server board, RAM etc.)
Scythe Gentle Typhoon's are the #1 fan for every application IMO. Quiet, extremely low power draw, ball bearing, undervolt well (I buy the 1800 rpm variant and solder resisters in line with them...
I am not familar with that chip so forgive me.
7950 is your best bang for buck cost wise of the card and power usage of a single system (sure three of a lower variant is cheaper and produces more...
My Dual Opteron 2419 setup has been sitting idle for a couple months now. Would anyone be interested in taking it off my hands? The CPU's I got for free from here so basically just want the...
Team viewer they would be brute force attacking your teamviewer account, not individual computers as you log into your teamviewer account to gain access to your machines. It also has whitelisting and...
I give up
:bows:
Which card? My GTX670 didn't benefit from any more than 2 threads. I suspect you would be better off running 2 threads per card.
Windows 8 isn't bad if you download classicshell for your startmenu. The OS has many useful features and runs quite a bit better.
That's exactly what I wanted. I will try it out on that rig in the next couple days when I have some time.
When I do that I get no tasks.
Further investigation requred then.
I updated my main rig (7950) to 7.0.42 just now. It is downloading CPU tasks with GPU tasks even though only GPU tasks are running. What are others doing about...
What about discerning Nvidia from ATI?
Two scenario's.
1. Nvidia and ATI GPU's in the same rig crunching. You want multi GPU's for the ATI cards but maybe only single or dual threads for the...
Where do you set that?
My one card is going down to 150 at idle and the other one stays at 1210. Though that never happens while crunching.
2600K @ 4.8GHz and 2x 7850's @ 950mhz core. 4 threads each.

From getting win 8 running to the 17th, then switched on crossfire. Looks about...
Well since I enabled crossfire I have not had an issue. So crossfire enabled seems to be ok.
I ran two instances of BOINC. One with a Nvidia app_info and the other with ATI. That way I could configure them independantly.
Sounds like the best course of action. I consider myself lucky I got Win 8 crunching properly.
