the dacs work better when accepting the 192k stuff, so you get a net gain in audio quality. and since it's processing in 32 bit, it lessens the damage of messing with the source.
but it does have...
it has hd audio bitstreaming, meaning its digital audio capabilities are perfect.
I really wouldn't recommend anyone use spdif in this age, unless for stereo or headphones, since it is limited to 2...
yea, im excited.
I think this means the death of things like the wdtv and related.
it just needs 3 things to be crazy good for htpc:
1. dtshd and truehd bitstreaming
2. UVD 3.0
3. cheap!
video playback question:
do these cards come with uvd 3.0 like the other 6000 series cards?
or uvd 2.2 like the original 5770 and 5750?
wait, wd blacks cant raid?
i thought they were the only type of wd that could?
That chipset doesn't support multichannel pcm or hd audio bitstreaming through hdmi.
So, I'd prefer ion over this for htpc use.
3dmark produces results that are easily reproducible, and from the preliminary results, it seems like a fairly accurate way of gauging performance too.
I'd like to see this with an nvidia chipset.
The via graphics still scares me, despite the fact that anand said it didnt give him any major problems.
wow, impressed with the 7200 rpm.
now the question on everyone's mind:
how many platters?
do you guys think this card will be well received by reviewers?
it seems clearly superior to a 5870, though idk if people are gonna bench it against 6870 crossfire or something.
its gotta be using vapor chamber based cooling, right?
anyone ever rma a samsung drive?
do they offer advanced replacement like seagate and western digital?
i doubt that it will ever exist.
no, i think they are still going to hold back.
factory oc'd gtx 460 is the official response to the 6870.
its disappointing to have products on the market that aren't at their full potential...
book was better than movie. :p:
I don't see a problem with it.
The "you can't compare factory oc'd cards to stock cards" argument seems arbitrary to me.
Thats sometimes the case, but its not the rule, as in this situation, where...
I don't understand what AMD dislikes about this benchmark.
If a 6870 can beat a reference 460 in unigine with extreme tessellation and AA on, i can't imagine a major coup for nvidia here.
the naming actually makes sense if you look at performance per watt...however, most gamers just look at performance.
same deal with 9800gtx vs 8800gtx
anand included the evga 460 1gb ftw.
the results were surprising, as it was besting the gtx 470 and 6870.
(although wattage was obviously alot higher than a 6870)
retail costs $240.
oem cost should be much lower, as the retail actually comes with a raid card.
460 price cut makes things very interesting.
idk, for the gtx 470, ppl are still too scared of the heat and what not to really consider it.
asus direct cu is underrated.
i feel it's a really great design, but people seem to prefer the gigabyte and msi stuff.
if you want full size headphones - audio technica ad700
but you mentioned your gonna use it with a zune...makes me think you should get headphones with some portability, such as the audio technica...
