demonkevy666, HT assist takes 2MB of the L3 cache from each die.
I guess CPU-Z should show 2x6MB of L3 cache.
L3 cache count for Core TDP on Sandy Bridge, and for NB logic on AMDs, is that correct?
I'm curious to see > 7GHz MT benches.
Thanks for sharing some results, informal.
Any overclocking tests on the FX-4 ? (5GHz on air, maybe)
@Pestilence, I don't see a 6 core on 1155 happening anytime soon.
As for 8 core on 2011, desktop X79 boards should work with Xeons...
From the [H] video:
120030
7.7GHz @ 1.284v !?
Thanks JF.
And congratulations for shipping the server parts. :)
@JF-AMD do Bulldozer parts have ACP and TDP or will they reach TDP on Turbo?
@zanzabar, you are better off with a wall charger.
It takes about 3 hours to charge my Motorola Milestone on a PC (even on a motherboard with "3x power USB"), on the charger that comes with the...
Very interesting comparion, but the numbers are a little off.
I think the PSU is to blame, but there might be something else.
@Iconyu, I think the LGA1155/Tigerpoint is the least limited of the current platforms in many ways. The faster DMI and integrated SATA 6Gbps support gives great IOs per second and the 16 PCIe lanes...
@spectrobozo, X79 is a PCH with DMI interface and optionally uses another 4x PCIe lanes for additional bandwidth.
The 32+ PCIe (probably PCIe 3.0) lanes on the LGA2011 platform come from the CPU...
I can't find specific data on this, but I don't think the problem is on the CPU.
DMI is basically 4x PCIe lanes, that hasn't changed from 1156 to 1155 (it's only changing on LGA 2011, to 8x, but...
@Iconyu / kl0012
Half speed PCIe on P55 was P55's fault, the PCIe controller on the CPU already supports PCIe 2.0. So an updated PCH (like P67) would benefit from the additional bandwidth.
As...
Iconyu, how is 1155 different than 1156? Dual Channel IMC, integrated x16 PCIe lanes, DMI... all the same. And at least 1156 supports BCLK overclocking.
I'm glad to hear Intel will make IvyBridge...
Mistery solved: DX79TO is a LGA 2011 board
http://imageshack.us/f/854/deskyboards.png/
X79's DMI is 4 PCIe 2.0 lanes, like P55 ou P67, but optionally mobomakers can use 4x additional PCIe lanes to connected it to the CPU.
Which may be a good idea, since X79 has 10 SAS/SATA 6Gbps...
I've seen this news floating around for a while, but it doesn't make sense.
SNB-E processors have integrated PCIe, X79 is just a southbridge.
Unless it is used as a southbridge for the X58 it is...
@charged3800z24 there is no need to take photos of the screen with a camera anymore. Just hit F12 to save a screenshot of the BIOS to a USB drive ;)
@massman, is it possible to get these statistics by country?
The Black PCIe x16 slot is 4x.
Komodo is not an APU, what's the point on making it compatible with motherboards with video outputs?
My guess is that Komodo will have 32+ PCIe lanes (if it does indeed have integrated PCIe) and...
Komodo FMx socket should not be equal to Trinity FMx socket.
We don't need another LGA 1156...
@sin0822 no, it was redesigned to allow access to the igpu (to support virtu), but does not have video outputs. so only d mode is supported.
gigabytes top z68 boards dont support virtu
