Same issue, but I found today that after a 'failed overclock' where the board resets to stock volts/speeds, the saved OC profile load-up gives the correct...
Here's the scoop:
The woman has my old E6600 (good for 3.85 Ghz Orthos stable with enough cooling) now that I am beating on an E8400. Right now it is under a Tuniq Tower with a YL SL at 12 volts....
The actual bios setting for the multiplier stays at 9 after rebooting. I noticed this only when loading saved settings from profile 1 or profile 2. It seems like the multiplier field is stuck on 7...

A little follow-up on my E8400 Q750A205 chip. Did a little voltage tweaking beyond what I described in my first post for 100% Orthos stable running.
