you really dont need a hig end board to reach 4.0-4-5 overclocks. most of the time those highend boards just tend to have better power regulation witch is pretty much a must when using more exotic...

hey try if different uncore modes help, i had this weird issue that some uncore speeds would just make the system really unstable or would not let me clock the cpu further when i would put the higher...

maybe you could try something older :D i have a ati 1650 pro that allowes me to take the pci-express frqs much higher than on high end cards.. but some cards like 8800gtx by xfx could withstand 145...
