This is what happens when you let performance be influenced dynamically by temperature and ship with a subpar heatsink, AMD deserves to be bashed.

Mantle uses the SAME exact language that DirectX uses, HLSL for shader programming.
Porting to OpenGL is much more expensive since you have to re-author all you shaders in GLSL.

I love how the performance preview from a few days (bioshock 4K) was one of the worst test for the 290x :D

7970 -> vanilla version with 4 games
290x -> premium version with 1 game
AMD better evolve their bundles or I'll go green this time
upper hand means they sell more even when their products are inferior
what is really important is that developer will still use their HLSL language to program the shaders, and compile that to either Mantle or DirectX, it's really not a big deal for them to support...
this card launch is getting so annoying...no info, rebrand, no games, delays, makes me want to wait for a 780 price cut and go for that...

if it's faster than Titan, costs a lil less than the 780 and bundles 3-4 cool upcoming games that I would buy anyway my upgrade from 7970 will be a nobrainer :up:
