Any other issues with this board? OC?
Mine comes today and i'd like to know what to expect.
I appreciate the help!
I actually figured out that it was my PCI-e slot that was the issue, not the card itself, so getting a new one at present is not critical. I could spend a bit more on the core...
I've been out of the game for quite a while due to school, but my GTX280 today up and died so I figured it was time to overhaul my machine (i'm still using the good old Core 2 Duo E6600)
I already...
I don't plan to overclock this machine as it's for work (although I might buy another heatsink down the road), however i'll probably leave it on 24/7 so i'll surely put WCG on there for backfill...
I got the go-ahead to order the Gigabyte 890GX and the GTX 460 card :D
So for the benefit of future searches, here's the final specs:
Antec 300 Illusion...
Thanks guys,
One thing, that video card doesn't have dual DVI... monitors without HDMI are less expensive so I was hopefully going to go that route.
Thanks guys, i'm not sure that I will have much use for the GPU. I know matlab can take advantage of CUDA but i'm not sure I will need that much power. I could go for a lower model if needed.
I think AMD is the cheaper way to go here but i'm not thrilled about the ratings on that mobo.
Hi all, i've been told that I can build a computer for my desk at work. The max budget I would say is 800, although a lesser option (around 500) would be even better.
I'd like a decent amount of...
I agree, perhaps it's the Abit IP35 Pro, I know that IT has a good track record, but it has always behaved strangely with RAM for me. Although the GS tech implied that D9 modules are prone to failing...
Good god, BOTH 2GB sets I have died for the third time. Any chance this product is still in production/warranty and I can get an RMA?
I dont even overclock them...
This article really made me mad.
I bought the game and it arrives tomorrow, but I am just going to download the cracked version and use that.
2.33 GHz * 160 = 372.8 GHz
Running OSG via National LambdaRail.
The batch-job system is also working on integrating BOINC as a backfill system, as soon as it releases i'm going WCG.

To clarify, I need 30A at 120V, input and output. It must be able to supply 30A.
I know it is possible, because I have two 120V 30A power strips made by Geist that are powering 10 machines each....
Hey guys, I have been asked to start looking for UPS for non essential systems on our cluster (compute nodes). We already have a Tripplite SMART5000RT3U covering all essential systems at 208V input....
Sweeeeeeet. I can't wait to get home :D
Love these fans, have one on my TRUE and one spare. I can't hear it at 7V and it cools as well as 12V.
Received my replacement yesterday, and I love it! The whole thing was handled very well by newegg too.
I got my GTX280 on the same day so I was able to play COD4 at max graphics 1920x1200, it was so...
We also have a cluster similar to this (in fact I believe those are the same brand chassis'), albeit a lot smaller. We are a part of the Open Science Grid. The Grid is not centralized as far as I...
If anyone is curious as to the damage caused to my monitor by UPS, here is the picture :)
Newegg are taking care of it apparently.
Something very large fell on the package in shipping (it looks like) and the screen is fubared when I turn it on. It looks like a giant rendering of a shattered screen.
Have to wait until monday...
I used to, but it caused a problem with my PSU because it had a simulated sine wave output (it triggered the overload).
I now use a Monster Power 2 phase line conditioner, works fine and the...
I went with the Benq that GAR posted. It looked pretty identical to the Acer so it was a toss up, lower power consumption was a plus.
Thanks everyone. Now to wait for a 4870X2 so I can actually...
How is the brightness?
