Wishing you a happy birthday.
A friend asked for a gpu card recommendation, for office work.
Found this at newegg:

128MB 64-bit GDDR2
PCI Express x16
Direct X9
Open GL 2.0

Hope you had a great birthday.
Welcome to the team. Thank you for joining.
That is a very good approach. However, I also keep in mind that being a member of a quorum of three, I owe a duty of care to the other two members. I may not care about the points, but other project...
You don't really need to set anything. Boinc applications are set to Low priority (=4) compared to the normal priorit (=8) for windows applications.
Windows OS will only run boinc apps using only...
The quotum system works on average claim. So there is no bar setting.
Claim low and you drag the quorum down with you, hurting yourself and the other two quorum members.
Claim higher than...
Ok guys here is my problem:
clover3 @ 3.15 benched under 5.10.7 3108/6921. So scale linear:
clover3 @ 3.60 would be about 3552/7909
Now compare that with 3453/10403
It looks like boinc is...

If you are inquiring about the difference between using the wcg United Devices client vs using Boinc client, then:
the UD client is an old software that was developed many...
if you want to keep it crunching continously, do not allow the machine to go into sleep or hybernation. Disable the "feature". Power otion = Always On. Blank screen saver to minimize GPU power draw...
Congratulations. Great effort.
During the past two days since you registered, you have been running ~22 hours per day.
But since it has only been two days since you started, most of these Working Units returned are still in the...

Time to look outside.
Ok. have a look at the "notes" section of this old post. The same concept applies her too.
Things will be heating up next month. Thought to share this with you.
Come end of July, XS team would cross the 500 million point milestone and take over second place.
I don't think the use of new preferences feature is the reason behind the crashs. It is confusing and unnecessary, but should not result in this instability.
On the other hand, Boinc developers...
A few comments:
On the Preferences dialogue, the OK" button is actually the "Save" button. Hit OK button to close the dialogue and (un)knowingly you have committed the preferences to the machine,...
Ok. One thing though:
The new Grid "features" eats some considerable cpu cycles. So definitly install as service and don't leave the boinc manager open after checking.
You are not serious! have you been running it like that for long?
That was a bad bench MM, not a 100% improvement. :D
Is this the older Xeons?
Boinc team have made a change in the benchmark routine. Finally.
Interesting. 5% flops, 15% iops. Will result in about 11% claim increase (not necessary granted though).
Edit: I think I have a hunch about why this happened.
Tried as per 123Bob procedute to the letter.
Unfortunately still no go. Will detail observations latter tonight.
@bob: Thanks for the info, and the detailed write up.
