Thanks, whats the procedure to find the place to measure? I've not done it before :) Thanks
whats the best way to monitor the voltages?
The temps in the BIOS are about 35c idle ... nothing to be afraid of. I've also installed my RAM now (GSKILL 2133MHz 2x2GB CL9 kit) and it hasnt changed anything)
The problem with LinX is very...
Hi all,
I have the following bits:
AMD 1055t CPU
ASRock 970 Extreme4 board
2GB Generic 1333mhz DDR3 (waiting for proper rams to arrive :))
AMD BE stock cooler
I'm having a hard time...
On a side note, I had a look at the 7950 I bought and its product code is FX-795A-TDJC which I can't find on the XFX website, however I found this link of a comparison of two different models on...
I will go with the 7950 as I game at 2560x1440, it seems that the card edges away slightly at very high resolutions when overclocked.
Also the MSI 660ti is quite expensive in the UK ... £250 vs...
I think 9k is about the same as a 7950 at 1000mhz - it's very close!
nice, got any benches at that speed?
I dont know how trustworthy this is but 7950 vs 660ti is very close here, even at very high res (which I thought the extra mem/mem bandwidth on the 7950 would help with)
...
I'm considering upgrading to one of the following as they're nearly the same price here in the UK:
nVidia GTX 660TI 2GB
AMD 7950 3GB
Which do you all think would most likely get the best...
For a budget OC-ing board i've found the Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 to be great - I think it's down to personal preference whether you prefer GB or ASUS, they both make nice AM3 boards
Great comparison, thanks for the effort :D
Good job intel on the die shrink, I know we shouldn't expect much but im surprised they didnt manage to get a little extra performance :(
My spec out is as follows:
2 * Opteron 6128 CPUs
ASUS G34 KGPE-D16
4 * Kingston KVR1333D3D4R9S/8GHB (32GB to start, probably upgrade to 64+ in the future)
2 * Noctua NH-U12DO coolers...
Thanks for the replies all, I did some more research and it seems that G34 may be the way to go after all
An update to this; I purchased a pair of Opteron 6128HE cpus from ebay for £141 ($250?)
...
Thanks for the advice so far, G34 opteron is out of my price range unfortunately - one thing I did notice is that the 2600k doesn't support VT-d, only VT-x, is there much of a difference?
I'm currently speccing up a workstation - this will be used solely for virtualisation using primarily VMWare workstation.
I'm finding it hard to find any benchmarks for these particular CPUs on VM...
I've found it to be an excellent board with Thuban, got me 4ghz and 3000mhz NB easy on a 1055T, 24/7 stable, and will do 300fsb at least, but i've not tried it with an AMD FX. The only problem I had...
ARGH now I have a black screen, and no POST, even after clearing the cmos and trying outside the case :mad::mad::mad:
What settings are you using to overclock? I bought one of these but im having no luck overclocking it :(
Which cooler is this?
For Comparison, G.Skill 2133mhz CL9 @ 1600MHz 6-8-6-24 1T
Sorry I don't have the full version of AIDA :(

AMD FX is great at encoding even with Win 7, but in the future it will be even better (At least it looks that way :D)
Hi all,
Does anyone know any reviews that have tested the CFX or SLI scaling (or tested with GTX590/6990 maybe?) on AMD Bulldozer ... i found the following but they use the CHV which is...
can you fix the broken images? thanks :D
