Woohoo! Should be interesting, my MECE is a bit rusty though.
Why not just ship a standard 2.5" SSD?
Sandforce controller, w/ SLC over SAS: http://www.runcore.com/en/RC-SSDProductShow-176.html
If you need something more rugged, you should be able to easily...
I really wish it was an upgraded architecture, not just some additional I/O and more cores.
It will probably be a great cash cow though. The X58 it's replacing is 3 years old. :O
They should really use intel gigabit controllers imo.
For 4 pin molex: The specifications list for a ~10A per pin limit. Theoretically, 16 of your 0.6A fans would be perfectly safe per chain.
Don't forget, we used to use molex for additional VGA power...
Many thanks for your work. Great insight in this article.
Digital PWMs are <3, engineers really need to scramble to increase their efficiency though.
And yeah, white PCB is pretty neat and unique.
I think the San Ace on the True Copper is too small. /sarcasm
Scythe Big Shuriken? Less than 100mm tall with the fan, would have a bit of clearance about the fan for air to move.
I have a 12k BTU portable AC. Can't use a window AC because my apartment's windows won't work with one.
Water is dealt with through the self-evaporation feature. (some ACs have em, some don't)

You'll love it. I've got one in my rig, couldn't think of a better PSU. Other than maybe Corsair's new Flextronics-made ones.. (Consumer-grade/price anyways)
The GTs should have a higher static pressure which should help air flow through the fins better.
I have say, very sexy program. Thanks!
If they the H70 significantly improves on the H50, without adding too much to the price, it could be a winner.
That heatsink looks like it will sound like hell.
Well. I can sit on the menu for 4 hours and my overclocked 5850 doesn't seem to notice the heat.. (Air-cooled)
It looks decent.. for people who actually use their video cards for work. :p:
wtb stability. 10.5s and 10.6s just don't work for me.
"Stuck" with 10.4s.
Hoping 10.7 will actually work. :o
With the system listed in the OP, you'll be fine even with overclocking. 32A of 12V should be fine.
1000$ gets you a pretty decent SS phase change setup. :o
I've got an old overclocked A64 3000+ Venice running PFSense. Never need to reboot the thing.
The thing is horrible for power consumption though. AFAIK, CnQ doesn't work, so it chews through more...
"ASUS are offering 8 channel audio via the X-Fi SupremeFX sound controller on board which packs a great punch saving you money on buying an aftermarket sound card."
Except that the onboard sound is...
The fact that it doesn't have gigabit ethernet is perhaps one of the few very painful flaws of this laptop. =\
The case.. not the door. The original v-series has inverted motherboards, if you were to look at the case head-on, it opens on the right side, not the left (of the new model(s)).
