How the numbers are assigned to the CPUs? I mean, in taskman (for example), cpu0 and cpu1 are related to core 0, cpu2 and cpu3 to core1, and so...??

The Windows Vista incompatibility is related with the Audio service. You can temporarily stop/start this services using the following command-lines:

net stop "AudioSrv"
net start "AudioSrv"
