Lots of opinions here. In any case this is the first time I've seen such an in your face warning like this which tells me that something is up, and maybe these cpu's are going to start out as pretty...
I guess this also give more reason to go with the "xtreme" unlocked multiplier versions if possible.
The InQ just picked up the story from another site. The pic tells all though. I doubt I would be brave enough to put 1.7v through a $1000 oem cpu 24/7 under those rather dire warnings. That tells me...
This may have been already discussed, but does this put a damper on your plans to upgrade to i7? Seems pretty scary for what is likely to be a big investment.
"Intel is adivising mobo-makers and...
Might it have been a problem with certain multipliers not working and the quads?
CPU margin enhancement to 'performance' rather than 'optimized' ??
Suggestions for setting this for a QX6850?
Didn't try up. Wow, that is odd. There must be some explanation. I mean the board is quite nice otherwise. Anyone know what really is going on here?
I knew I shouldn't have sold my QX9650. Seriously, wtf?
You're kidding right? uhhhh . . What has it been almost 2 years QX chips have been out? I don't get it??? All my older asus boards going back 3 chipsets supported the QX multis? This can't be...
Can someone explain why in bios 1201 on a QX6800 if I set to anything lower to 9x multi it reverts back to 9x multi after reboot no matter what strap/fsb/speed etc, it is set on otherwise. Is there...
anyone else with bios 1201 results yet?
I decided to try the 790i after abandoning nvidia chipsets after the 680i problems and yes I did have corruption problems, in fact it led me to mac pro after years of building my own systems. I just...
Actually cancel that dumb statement I posted about maybe I should try the 790i. It's looking real messy over there based on this thread: http://www.evga.com/forums/tm.asp?m=290927 ouch!! Lots and...
ouch. .. picking the scab I see . . .
uhh . . about the asus . . well I jumped to the P5E3 Premium and so far I'm not convinced. As usual buyers remorse is telling me I should have left well...
Is anyone hosting this beta bios?
It droops more than my Maximus Formula did and I do find I need to set a tad bit more vcore to push my 9650. I don't know, so far I'm really not liking this board. It seems very finicky especially...
I get this too,. I got this on a Maximus Formula with the 1xxx bioses only. I got this with the latest bios on a P5K dlx also. I've seen this now with bios 204 on the p5E3Prem. Asus is doing...
It's probably a dead chip. Carefully mount it under a heatsink with vey little pressure and see if it posts.
There are two bioses on the asus ftp site. 151 and 204. (204 notes say "improved ddr3 compatability")
All of a sudden the ftp site is asking for a password. Anyone have a working asus ftp site address?
this is the one I've been using up till today: ftp://ftp.asus.com.tw/pub/ASUS/mb
No you can flash back to the 907 bios.
Is there a more recent bios for the P5e3 Premium than 0204?
I wonder if we will be able to flash the Maximus 2 Extreme version of this board to the P5E3 Prem.? Cross flashing seems to be all the...
Zip had the rampage and the P5e3 Premium today, so I ordered the Premum. I figured I might as well make the ddr3 jump now.
