A hot bit of fluff? Nice chick?
offtopic but that bird is seriously fine in your avatar.
Back to this old gem of a question. Currently I am pumping 1.65v to get 2.7ghz stable on my X2 3800+.
I am watercooled and the IHS has been removed - temps dont go above 45c under load so I am...
1.65v
Any body tried using one of these 'ere new fangled pointy clicky bios makers with a .1 or .2 extra volts to the core? If so what sort of results are we seeing?
My card tops out at about 530 I was...
Dredging in the back of my memory - I think you have to set the volts to Auto in bios to enable it? (not sure where I got that from).
For the price of those mobos you coulda got a new CPU :p:
I found it was my crappy old motherboard - now on a DFI NF4 Ultra D and fully stable at 10x270 3-3-3-8 and 1:1 on the ram ;)
It does :p
Yea currently at 2.6v and now stable at 2.7ghz thanks to new DFI NF4 Ultra D. :D
What program can I use to change the volts from within windows? cpu / ram volts really what I am looking for.
Unfortunately there maybe nothing you can do - I am in exactly the same boat. X2 3800+ With the crippled Toledo core. It has a pap mem controller.
Mine cant even do above 240mhz 1T Dual chan...
Ah man dont say that - Took two ABit AV8's for it all to work for me. I am trying a new Windows install on the IDE channel - fingers crossed. 3am here now been poking this waaay to much.
Same here - for me its freezing during the start up of windows (loading screen with thing going across bottom).
What harddrives are you using and plugged into where?
Sounds slightly familiar:

I am sorry to post something that looks like it has been posted before - but I have been struggeling with this for the last several hours and none of the other forum posts seem to relate. Firstly...
Excellent cheers for the info guys - ordering the Ultra-D now.
Sorry for the vague title and possibly the whiney style question.
But what motherboard should I get for my X2 3800+ ? It clocks to 2.6ghz in my ABit AV8 but I am moving to PCI-E now and getting me...
I removed my IHS from my X2 - succesfully, so much lower temps now.
In other news.
RX8's rock :D Got one myself as per sig ;)
Personally choice of OS for a file server is a no brainer, FreeBSD :) However that may not be an option (Unix SysAdmin by profession at v.large UK ISP.)
Everthing looks good but this is a server, with a fair few people connected at the same time - i'd suggest looking at raid options and breaking the 250gb up into smaller drives in Raid5. Raid5 = more...
I do have the newer revision and it can crunch numbers stable at 300mhz. Plus if there was a problem with the AGP/PCI locks as you are suggesting i'd get HDD corruption?
Wasnt saying it wasnt :p: Just saying dont rely on CPUZ for the info.
This I dont know, I was just chucking it out there for comments more than anything else. As this was the method...
Ok my system is stable setup with 9x288 and 333 on the ram. With a touch over 1.6v to the CPU. Very cool at 2x prime load with around 43 - 45c (room temp dependant). I have had it prime for 10 hours...
CPUZ doesnt report whether its a Manchester or Toledo correctly, it says mine is a Manchester core but its actually a Toledo.
Also I understand that burning in properly requires maximum volts at a...
